Yeah... the cover seems a little too close to "The Rage: Carrie 2."
True, but it's better than pic of her huddling in a corner.
Nothing will top the original B'way logo.
That cover is really bad. They actually should have gone with the photo they used on the ads halfway through the run. The red photo with Molly during the destruction. That was a striking photo.
That cover looks like it was done by a 6 year old on a computer painting program. All it's missing is a rainbow, some clouds and a half sun on the top right corner.

I think it's far closer to a cheap MS Paint knockoff of the current cover art for the original than what is being used on the terrible sequel (which does not seem to have been made available on blu ray yet).
Well thank God for that.
It does seem to be heavily inspired by The Rage artwork and the type looks even more like the Cats logo than the other one did.
I'm glad they recorded so much though. I was thinking that a lot of those reprises wouldn't be included. Hopefully, the "Invited" section is included on the "I Remember How Those Boys Could Dance" track. I'll be pretty bummed if they didn't record it.

Horrid artwork
They should have used this
It also shares the same ideas used on the cover of the Scarrie cast recording -- just executed differently. The fire and the silhouette are both there. I think that's why it looks so off-putting to me. It looks like a parody of itself.
To be fair, the album artwork IS close to many "Carrie" dvd covers, but the minimalistic paint style is of a piece with the recent re-edition cover style of many early Stephen King novels.

The cover art actually reminds me of the cover of the book I have.

Those bastards. They should put it on itunes right now.

They can't release it on iTunes now because they still have to make decent cover art. That's why they gave themselves until 9/25/12 to release it. Geez!
^I doubt it will actually change. The CDs are probably already being pressed.
lol, art is so subjective. I like it very much. It's appropriate, it's fine.
^It's growing on me a little bit the more I look at it, but I still think it looks too much like a parody of what Carrie the musical artwork would look like.

Are you saying that makes it bad?
The professional audio recording sounds strangely similar to the audio from the first preview. Not that I would know, of course.
^What?!? The first preview audio that I heard does not sound that pristine. No where near, actually.
Wow, that clip sounds fantastic! So excited for this recording!
Not a great cover, but it's not terrible or anything. It's better than the stupid photo they used for the show itself.
