Well, the show won Best Musical, the movie won Best Picture, so will this production win Best Made for Television Movie? We'll see.
The most important question is: will Underwood sing the high B-flat or the low C in "Do Re Mi."

I saw a commercial for the first time this afternoon (about 3 hours ago). They only mentioned and showed Carrie. She looked oh so pretty as she smiled and spinned. I guess this will be more about milking the cash cow that is country superstar CU than about SOM. Good business.

Haven't read the entire thread, so don't know if this has been discussed up to now.
Are they following the original published score and libretto and order of events in the show as written or is there a revised script/influences from the movie version...? i.e. yes will Underwood be doing the original low scale in Do-Re-Mi to finish it or will it all be jazzed up like the movie and the 1998 and 2006 revivals?

It will follow the original libretto, except they are using Something Good instead of An Ordinary Couple. I hope Do Re Mi ends jazzed up instead of the original low scale, though! It just sounds more complete that way, if I'm making sense.

The children, including Liesl, have been cast, but I wonder who is playing Rolf.

I will be performing with the Windy City Chorus at the official viewing party in Chicago at Sidetrack (sponsored by NBC)! Yay!
According to Deadline, a Carnegie Mellon student named Michael Campayno is Rolfe.

The only name I recognize is Sophia Caruso, who I believe worked on Smash.

,,,,,,,and here's Rolf ! What a hunk ! Seems that Rob Ashford is never one to turn down a pretty face!
I guess it doesn't hurt that his Uncle is part of the production team : "His uncle is Emmy Award winning makeup artist Joseph Campayno, who also serves as the telecast's key makeup artist.

Here is Carrie talking about the rehearsal process along with Craig Zadan.

I wonder what they'll be performing during the parade. My best guess is 'Do Re Mi'; any other predictions?

My guess is either Do Re Mi, The Lonely Goatherd, or a medley. Since My Favorite Things will be between Maria and the Mother Abbess, I doubt they would perform that unless it's in a medley.
Wow Ariane Rinehart is so pretty. The prettiest Liesl since Charmian Carr.

Wow! She sounds wonderful! Her vibrato has become stronger and it's absolutely gorgeous

Her voice sounds beautiful. I can't wait to watch this.
On Sunday, she said in an interview that this program is more nerve-wracking than hosting the CMAs. I think she'll do just fine.

Will they be singing live or will we hear their pre-recorded voices?

They will be singing live!
Excited for this production!!!

It's live. All live, baby. A tribute to those fabulous 1950s musicals broadcasts. Cannot wait.

It's live. The music has been prerecorded but they will be singing live. A cast recording will be released a few days before the broadcast so that will not be EXACTLY the same as what you hear on the broadcast.

Well that's good to a point..but no orchestra and live music. Hmmm..that would not have been my choice but it's not my choice to make. I would have preferred for the orchestra to be involved in some way like in a concert/actual show but oh well.
The promo does look like fun.
