"Piggy Wiggy say goodbye, your number's up, you're gonna die. Suiiiiii. Come and get it."
Can you believe they cut that?

I personally think that Encores! or The Actor's Fund should do this in concert. Too bad the rights aren't available.
"For me, THEATRE is an anticipation, an artistic rush, an emotional banquet, a jubilant appreciation, and an exit hopeful of clearer thought and better worlds."

The logo reminds me of BATB. Odd. I like it though.

I loved CARRIE until I actually saw "archival" videos of it. Truly horrifying.
That logo is ironically one of the most brilliant ever on Broadway, I think.
The wave of her hair is actually a symbol from ZENER cards used to measure telekentic ability. How cool is that?

I just missed it in London with Barbara Cook and then missed it again on Broadway (As I remember it, I went on a very short tour and it was already closed by the time I got back).
I'm still curious about "Let's Burn The Dress Together."

I just started listening, checking it out.
It really isn't that bad.
They should have renamed it and changed the synopsis to get people to come.

No, they should have fired Debbie Allen and cut the crappy parts of the show out and made the book comprehensible. Then it might have actually gotten a couple of decent reviews.

But Carrie as a musical doesn't sound that refreshing from the beginning, ya know.

The composing team were actually inspired to write CARRIE after seeing several contemporary operas, which tend to get away with big, over the top scenarios. Perhaps CARRIE would have found better respecy if they'd gone that route.

Ohh... so betty played the role of "Carrie" when they took it to Broadway??
If you read the book Making it on Broadway, they have a few things about the show, I foind it very intresting.

Maybe as a Rock Opera it would be at its best.

Betty played Carrie's mother. and the song "And Eve Was Weak" is the best song ever...

If you haven't heard "I'm Not Alone" you haven't lived!

Am I the only one who hasn't heard the score? I feel so out of the circle.

Some of the songs are actually amazingly good.
Some of the songs are so bad, you can't stop laughing.
I really wish I could have SEEN this, but I'll stick with listening to the few songs I have. Carrie is certainly an interesting work because it's both tragically horrible and impressive at moments. The book Not Since Carrie has some excellent descriptions.

The director RUINED it! He had what should have been a highschool meeting place (like a malt shop) look like some bizarre leather bar with kids writhing around in mini-togas, etc. The set with all the steps was WRONG. The Brits have no concept of American high school. Betty was amazing. The choreography looked like a jazzercise video.

there is no official OBC recording. the only thing going around is a sound board recording that people have... I've heard it. I have it on cassette tape. it's pretty cool. and "I'm Not Alone" IS brilliant, trace.

Where does everyone hear the songs from this show? Is there a website or do you need a file sharing program?
