"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
Your welcome. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this show fully produced. Last night I was Menken's concert and am also excited about "Leap Of Faith" based on what we heard there...
"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men" - Willy Wonka
I believe Jack O'Brien mentioned a while ago that he wanted to do the tryout of the show in San Diego. Any news about that?
"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"
Good for her! I love that girl. And while she is absolutely fantastic in Spelling Bee, I want to see her in a role where that gorgeous voice of hers is more utilized!
Thank you for resurrecting this thread, BroadwayBaby6! I didn't catch it last year, and it's very exciting!

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

You think of Leonardo Dicaprio as the poster boy for edgey? One of the great mysteries of my life is how he kept getting casted in all those bad boy roles. Not knocking his acting skillz at all, just saying he doesn't look the part.
Hah...oh man I am SO excited about this show. Every single person invloved from the writers, composers, directors, creative team (I know its not announced, but I am pretty much assuming David Rockwell for sets...something just tells me) is the top of my list.
And what a part to be a dream role. I would die to play Frank Jr. someday.
WOWeeWOW WOW WOW! ( to quote) What a cast! SO curious ' bout this show . Congrats to Mr.'s Shaiman& Mc Nally. U lucky #*@ Craig! (sabre turns green w envy P.S. How was the book aspect??
I know this cast is not the "real" cast...but what do people think of Nathan in the Tom Hanks role? On the one hand, he can do anything...but anyone else they can see in the role? Norbert??
I just thought it was funny jump. Besides, he's young enough looking that he can keep on playing the heroes and leads. I haven't seen the movie though so I don't know anything about the Nathan Lane character except that Tom Hanks played him in the movie.
am i the only one who isn't thrilled at the idea of Nathan Lane as the detective??....not to rip on him or say he can't do it...but he definitley isn't the first name that comes to mind for that part
RIP Natasha Richardson. ~You were a light on this earth ~
I DOUBT Nathan will be in this show. It will be an expensive show without having to pay Nathan his usual star salary. The show will be a hit without a bonafide star such as Nathan. I would guess that they would bring another musical theatre veteran (someone like Denis O'Hare) to do the role. If this show is indeed a hit-in-the-making as people are saying, the show won't need a star to be a hit.
As for Matthew Morrison, he might be busy with Tarzan when this show previews and Michael Arden might be busy too doing the Dylan musical. Ideally I think Michael Arden would be perfect for the role, but the producers will probably think that hetero Matthew Morrison might be more believable as a womanizer.
I am crossing my fingers that this show will debut in San Diego...
