"I doubt that the producers would hire someone who used to be on AI to be in the ensemble."
Isn't Katie Webber of Wicked's ensemble a former AI contestant?
That's all I can say without gagging. Maybe Matt Salvidar will be kept on as a standby for Constantine...that would mean that he would still be there for us to see but he'd get a shorter work week.
AUGH. Not the armpit picture again!

That one picture makes me want to cringe, but thank god the hilariosity (is that a word?) of the rest of it made me laugh. Thanks, ILove!
HAHA! Oh, where to buy tickets...
I would definately call that a FLOP.

Someone is determined to disturb my sleeping patterns. Is this revenge for my anti-Lestat threads?
I don't understand. ARE you or AREN'T you a Constantine fan? You seem to have joined today, too.

That link is not for a Constantine fan group. It is for an anti-Constantine fan group. Check out his web site to find real fan groups.

The newbies joining today seem to know one another.
I'm lost.
Yeah, I kind of got that, too.
Did you guys join at school or something? Not trying to be rude, but seriously. You all joined at the same time and happen to know each other? What?

Pod people?

yes. I'm a Constantine fan. Those people spewing their hatred are also Constantine fans too. They just display it in a pathetic and strange way. The real fans can be found on nice sites like:

It kinda seems like high school too...there's the one group, probably the popular one, and the other that are trying to be in with the popular group but are being labeled psychos instead.
I say we step back, make some more popcorn and let them go at it...the insults will be flying in no time.

I just returned to Texas from NYC a month or so ago...but I *will* be going back if this all works out for Constantine. And there are many others who'd make such a trip for a chance to see him on Broadway.
In many areas (not just Broadway shows), I've noticed that naysayers work hard to appear discerning, but it often comes across as hubris and snobbery. Truly discerning people rarely trash the "opposition." It isn't classy.
Give the guy a break. If it doesn't work out well, then he'll move on, I suppose. But I think he's got what it takes, and I'm excited about the possibilities ahead for him.
Word about this probably got around on one of Constantine's message boards, and they all felt the need to invade this place to talk about it, too.
Most likely. It's like some sort of infection. It just grows and grows.

Didn't we have some popcorn earlier in the thread? What happened? Did we finish it? Do we need to make more?

another newbie here....
I think you guys underestimate how funny the guy is....
I think he'll be great in the role of Sammy....
give him a chance....
and with all the controversy before he's even signed....
he'll sell tickets...

I'm "really" eating popcorn now.
wow... How this thread has grown since I first read it this afternoon! haha
Well, it is definitely making for interesting reading tonight.
Anybody have any more of that popcorn left for me? I think I'm going to be up reading this for a while! :)
If Constantine gets a role in this production, it will bring in MANY new fans to the show, from all across the country...a very good thing, right??
Say what you will about American Idol - his live performances on that show were broadcast to many millions of people each week. The amazing power of television, folks. And without a doubt he's got the looks, talent and charisma to guarantee his fans of all ages will want to see him when he's on Broadway.

I love American Idol and watch it all the time, so it's not that. I just can't see him in this role and I can't see him being better than Matthew who's already fantastic, so why buy out a contract and go to all this trouble?
Has there been a formal announcement of which role he's being considered for??
