Has there been a formal announcement of which role he's being considered for??
No, but when I first heard this, that was the closest role I could see for him out of all of them, and I still don't think he'd work for it. I'd hope the casting people wouldn't even consider him for the others.
I've heard from several sources that it's definately Sammy.
Don't get me wrong, he might actually surprise us and do well, it's just that I find that hard to believe.
wow... How this thread has grown since I first read it this afternoon! haha
Well, it is definitely making for interesting reading tonight.
Anybody have any more of that popcorn left for me? I think I'm going to be up reading this for a while! :)
Enjoy the read. Plenty of popcorn for everyboy.
Has there been a formal announcement of which role he's being considered for??
As much as I adore Matt Saldivar, if it's any role BUT Sammy (which is honestly the only role I could ever see Constantine doing in this show if he has to be in it), I'm going to throw a massive fit of some kind, LOL.
He doesn't fit any other description than Sammy. Unless he wants to be Bum...then...by all means, go ahead and be bum, CM.
isn't it sad that mtv got the "scoop" on bww-er's, where are all of our posters who claim to be "insiders" ha!
Unless he wants to be Bum...then...by all means, go ahead and be bum, CM.
But I like Peter! Haha.
PARISinNYC- Thanks. I think I am just gonna sit back now with my "popcorn" and watch this whole thing unfold. It definitely beats what's on tv right now!
and what is exactly on TV right now? herpes commercials?
But I like Peter! Haha.
We all do. :] I meant it more as in a silly "Constantine is a bum." way.
Can anyone here describe the character of "Sammy" in more detail...for those of us who have yet to see this play?? Thanks.
Sammy is Robbie's bestfriend and the bassist of their band, Simply Wed. He's a bit of an idiot with a bad haircut, but he has a huge heart and used to date Holly (Julia's cousin).
Sounds interesting, actually...describe the bad haircut?
ETA: Thanks - will watch the video. I'm sure other new people here may enjoy watching, too.

It's a mullet in 1985. I think that says it all.

"If Constantine gets a role in this production, it will bring in MANY new fans to the show, from all across the country...a very good thing, right??"
Dude. He toured with his band. He just had a tour. They were GIVING away tickets to his shows.
He's one season and the new auditions behind the times now. AI Fans are fairly flighty. (generalization) Out with the old, in with the Taylor.
Maybe if Clay was going to play this role... heywaitaminnit... I think I am ON to something!
I see Clay as more as a George myself.
Honestly, I would go see Clay, god that's embarassing!
Ooh, I'm not even touching this one..
Note to all new people in here: must watch video clip linked to above - now I get it.
The hair? 80's mullet-ish.
Sammy is passionate - real about his music.
Those of us who caught a show on Constantine's recent tour that just ended last week in Hampton Beach, NH most definitely will say the same is true of him...
Question: If Constantine is going to play Sammy, why is Matt Saldivar leaving the production? (sorry if this was already discussed earlier).
I don't think Matt had any intention of leaving the show, so that would mean they're buying out the remainder of his contract and replacing him with Constantine.

Okay, admittedly a n00b here...
but how do Broadway contracts work? Do they have to keep paying them if the show closes?
Also, ConFan is notorious for bringing cameras and videos into venues... in fact, one of their leaders basically said it is their job to break rules to get contraband (paraphrasing). Am I correct in assuming that sort of thing is frowned upon on Broadway?
forget frowned upon, try illegal!

Who is the ConFan person you speak of?
Did I miss something/someone?

ConFan is a name coined by former or waning Constantine fans to describe the obsessed ones who think he can do no wrong. They live in Confanlandia.
There are some who are realistic. Like me! Go for it Constantine, on Broadway. He claims to be an actor... his TV show did not get picked up, which I understand is very cutthroat. But I am not ready to call him a thespian based on some Rent contraband.
Unless you call playing a rocker an acting job.

Thanks for the answer about Matt. How common is this practice of buying out an actor's contract prior to the end of a run?
Is there a link on this site that would give the showtimes/days for this play? Also, link to buy tickets that explains seat pricing? Was wondering if any of these show times may already be sold out. Thanks.
