Oh, Jesus Christ.
Can we not do this? Or at wait until she's in her late 40's?
We don't need another revival of Gypsy. Not for a long, long time.

Could Gypsy be Jamie Lloyd-ified?

Anything could...I just wouldn't want to see Herbie in the obligatory ending tableau in just his undies.

Even if he was played Groffsauce or Aaron? Maybe even Nick if he's game...

We don't need a Gypsy in New York for a decade. Whoever it is, may it be someone unexpected, the way Tyne Daley surprised us. What's less exciting is moving forward a reigning diva with a large and beloved voice and presence and anointing her as if the role belongs to her. Maybe it is Ms. Michele's to turn down. But surely not on any known horizon line.

By the time this is appropriate to revive (20 years) she’d be great if she still has her voice. I’m not her biggest fan but it’s clear she sells tickets and delivers the goods. Audiences respond to her. Pair her with a hot ingenue and it would be a hot ticket.

If it's 15-20 years from now, Diego could play Herbie.

I truly hope this is in Lea Michele's future - like 15/20 years please. Honestly I found this last revival to be a mess I truly hate Audra in the role. The sooner I can forget about that production the better.
I can't believe I'm saying it, but I do find Patti LuPone to have been the best in the last 30 years. I think Ethel Merman, (from recordings ) was grand and probably the best in the day. I also have a personal fondness for Angela Lansbury, though she may not have been the "best", I also love Bernadette Peters but Gypsy was not her finest.
With Lea I think she could potentially make for a great. Mama Rose. There aren't many others coming up that I can see having that gravitas and command.

I might get torn to shreds for this, but in 20-30 years, I want Mackenzie Kurtz as Rose.

The only Lea who should be doing this is Salonga.
