"thinks she is better than god"
Patti can't think she's better than God, silly! Patti is God!

lol, Ahmelie your last statements combined with the sight of the avatar have provided some good giggles indeed. Especially if you imagine that shoe having just hit a playbill!
Patti is God!!!! The best MaMa Rose I ever saw, hands down. Although, anything she does is perfection!!!!
If any other performer did that, they would be harshly criticized. Patti LuPone could go on a killing spree and people would still kiss her feet. She disgusts me (and honestly, so do some of her fans).

Ummmm...Ok, Elphaba 3. How do Patti's fans disgust you?

I think it's funny. People need to gain an understanding that the stage is not for the audience to use as a footstool, coatrack, cup-holder, paper-tray or spitoon.
Good for Patti.

Oh, and I don't agree that any other performer would be harshly criticised. I think whoever it was it would be funny - it's not about people wearing rose-coloured glasses towards Patti...whoever put their playbill on stage is an arse. End of.

5 to 1 says she is worse at a show then all the people she "repremands". God i am sick of this woman.

I don't get it.
Anyone else and you all would be crying foul...but Patti does it and that makes it acceptable?

Agreed yankeefan007.
Was the woman wrong to leave her playbill on the stage? Yes.
But as i tell my special ed chilcred every day, two wrongs don't make a right. Well, I don't use those terms. It's more like "You hitting him back doesn't make either of you right! Now, both of you to the quiet zone!"

you aint never gonna put Patti in *the quiet zone*!!!
she's *always* gonna be in ***LOUDER, Patti, LOUDER*** zone!!!!
(also i wouldnt be crying foul for "anyone else"; anyone dumb enough to think the stage is their coffeetable deserves what they get)
It's Miss LuPone to all of us peons!

n69n - the "crying foul" remark was about another actor, not audience member.

Look, guys, everyone knows Lupone is incredible - can we just agree that you haters will go away, get some therapy and come back when you're in a better headspace? I don't need to deal with your "issues" right now. I got me some Patti to be lovin'.
From what I understand it wasn't a playbill but a copy of Ben Brantley's review in the Times (*wink*wink*).

Elphaba3, people shouldn't leave playbills on the stage. End of story. I think Patti did the right thing by kicking them off the stage. I think ANYONE who did that would be doing the right thing. Performers shouldn't have to worry about the stage having playbills on it because people should know better.
I was there too, baddad! Wouldnt have known you if I saw you, I was in Row G, and I saw it too...it was hilarious, and it wasnt that hard from my perspective...noone wouldve been hurt.
There is a long history of this with many performers taking issue with an audience member for being distracting...Harvey Fierstien might have stopped the show and berated the woman...and he would've been right. Why should that be tolerated?
"Are you in show business? Then get you f**king feet off da stage!"
She gets on my nerves. I hate how she thinks she is God's gift to this Earth. I second that if it was anyone else, everyone would be going "How DARE she?" Yes, it was wrong that someone left it on stage, but she could have just pushed it off the stage with her foot or pick it up and dropped it off stage. To kick it at someone just to prove a point, qualifies her as a bitch. And yes, you can quote me on that.
Oh please...noone got hurt and Patti isnt the only one who has done this type of thing. She doesnt think she's god...WE DO!
Next to me, on the aisle, an older gentleman looked at his program all through the first act with a pen light...at intermission, I asked him what he needed to read so badly at the beginning of each number, that it was distracting to me, and that the actors could likely see it and be distracted...I thought he was going to cry.
doodle, that kind of stuff drives me NUTS.
That being said, last night was FIERCE. Boyd Gaines was completely brilliant.
I agree...I saw the first preview, and I loved it (review posted somewhere on here), but there were pacing problems and the music cues were off...it could not have been tighter last night.
Benanti, Gaines and Patti were just amazing...I'm eating my own words about Laura, who I've never really liked in anything I've seen her in before (Nine and WS), and thought she was too old...I was WRONG, she's great in this role.
