Cynthia Erivo has given arguably the best star performance on Broadway in a long time. I'd die for her to do Aida in a Broadway revival, but she'd be amazing in everything. Feel free to dream cast her. Or let's just start a gofundme to do a 54 Below concert of Aida.
You might want to consider changing the title of this kind of misleading thread ![]()
Cynthia Erivo is the new Hamilton - the topic nobody will shut up about and work into any and every conversation.

They would have to change the score and the book.
I mentioned in the comments of her Show People interview with Paul Wontorek on YouTube that I think she would make a great Sarah in Ragtime.

I'm all for it and she deserves it.
Misleading headline. Thought they were doing a revival.
Well then keep your eyes open for an upcoming announcement that you might find interesting, Huss.
Jordan. I would LOVE a revival of Aida. :)

OK?

Um... no. That score is excellent.
and the book."
Ok maybe.
I'm not sure how I would feel about an Aida revival without Bob Crowley's scenery and costumes. I've seen it regionally without his designs and never liked it as much.
I would love to see something new written for her.

To the OP: please change the title of your thread.
I was totally going to suggest this casting after seeing The Color Purple with her and Heather. I think she'd be amazing

Refreshingly, both are truly worth never shutting up about.
Love her, but hope she choses a vehicle that is worth her talent. Also, perhaps she would like to work in London after being abroad for a year.

re: Cynthia returning to London - Selfish of me, but I hope not. She said in her Show People interview that she wants to stay as long as we will have her so....somebody write something for her. Quickly!
I was gonna say she should find better material...

I was in college when Aida was on broadway and I still remember watching it with Heather Headley as Aida! Great times!!!!
BTW, one way I feel older is when original musicals I saw when I was younger are coming back as revivals (i.e. Color Purple, CATS, Spring Awakening, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, etc.)
Didn't she do some new musical in London called Umbrellas of something?
Umbrellas of Cherbourg?

boy Jordan
if you know something and an Aida revival is actually percolating that would be awesome
Cynthia would do a great job in the role
i loved this show and was very lucky to see the obc 5 times, a lot considering i live in SF...
I think Aida was really well done, except for the reincarnation bits at the beginning and end and letting the heroes die....
They should learn from wicked and have the heroes make a surprise escape thanks to amneris, and most americans dont believe in reincarnation so they should can that too.
This is one of my fav cast recordings to listen to (its fun) and the cast album won the grammy
lets have arevival starring Cynthia Erivo!!!!!
I was JUST talking to my friend yesterday about how there should be an Aida revival with Cynthia Erivo. I would love to see Laura Beananti as Amneris.
