I feel like Viola is a role they could get some fun replacements for to bring in repeat business.

I love that Simard did the pratfall over the arm of the couch during "Tell Me Ernest" on the Today Show.

It's hard to believe those two numbers will sell lots of tickets. They sadly reveal what a distinctly subpar show it actually is.
Just got an email that Hilty is out for tomorrow's matinee. That wasn't on Broadway Direct when I ordered tickets a couple of months ago. Oh well.

I have to disagree it's pure musical theater comedy at its best. Cast is superb and show is very funny, entertaining and visually stunning. Two great leading ladies - Megan Hilty & Jennifer Simard are comic geniuses!

I think anyone who wants to see a musical comedy will get a good idea of how distinctly brilliant these women are simply from Jennifer Simard's expertly executed couch roll to the ground.

If that's an indication of your taste and judgment, the producers can breathe a sigh of relief that you're not advising them, considering that the Hilty/Simard/Sieber song already went viral on social media months ago and was performed on another TV show, gaining them a lot of fans and sold tickets.

She also accidentally sings “so f*cking glad” at the end (they cut her audio) and caps it off with an audible “Oops!”
Jennifer Simard, what a legend.

As a proud member of the "This Show Was Meh" brigade, I want to make clear that the opening 20 minutes are fantastic. That big number for Hilty, this Tell Me Ernest earworm, and the wedding--all great. It just completely falls apart after that
but i DO agree that this song is great marketing- I went into DBH expecting to love it based on this number. They will continue to make money for a while. Also, both Hilty and Simard look/sound better than ever.

Any predictions of leads calling out 2 weeks after the Tonys? Maybe based on how it’s been going lately? That’s when I have tickets to see it…

I'd bet money that Dee Roscioli will be the Madeline alternate after the Tony's and will do the Wednesday and Saturday matinees.
Does anyone know if it’s in Megan’s contract to be out once a week? She did do the Wednesday matinee so tomorrow would be fitting

No. She's done full weeks previously. Just her attendance has not been good overall. I get how physically demanding the role is, but as it's been said already, they should have had a standby hired on opening night.

Will be visiting NYC May 12-20th. I know not to go on a Wednesday as they both seem to be out a lot on double show days. That said, is there a day that is more likely to have them both in?"
To be on the safe side Wednesday - Saturday evenings don't go to a matinee!

Can anyone who has seen the show recently tell me if Simard does this fall on the regular? She didn't when I saw it final preview (or in a video of the song taken around the same time), so I figured it may have been cut - I wonder now if that was due to an injury or something and they've put it back in, or if it was only done for the video to sell it better.

She did it Thursday! She did it once when I saw it early in previews and then I saw her another 2 or 3 times without her doing it so I too was surprised to see her do it again this week! Maybe it was a safety/injury thing for awhile. It's certainly a Signature Simard move so it's fun to see it back.

Simard is also out for the matinee now.

Thanks for the update. We opted to cancel our tickets for the matinee after my earlier post, only because my fiancee knew Hilty in college, so is partial to seeing her. We'll definitely try for an evening when we rebook.
Is Simard getting fined for cursing on tv?

Do you have to go to the matinee? They could probably move you to tonight as there is availability.
**** Would have helped if I read down a couple of more**** Smart to rebook as they are both now out of the matinee.
Also, 5 swings for ensemble are on for the matinee! I guess that early morning appearance on the Today show yesterday has them exhausted in need of a break. I bet both Hilty & Simard are back tonight!
Their attendance continues to be atrocious.
I think some investigating should be done. It’s ridiculous. A call to page 6?

Frustrating! Trying to map out my week in NY (May 12th-20th) and wondering what day will give us the best chance to see both of them in. Hoping now that the Tony's were announced we'll have better chances. Is there a certain day that they have seemed to be in most of the time?

Yeah, doing two different things in an entire day is apparently too challenging for them. What a waste of two nominations. Meanwhile, Helen Shen has excellent attendance.....weird.
