Somethings Cookin... and it’s not just my hand on that scolding hot black post in 115 degree heat ![]()
Well, we’ve been waiting since about 2016!

It has been teased and in the works for SO long and I have been waiting patiently for it. Here is hoping it actually gets off the ground this time and is a stage production and not a movie musical remake.
I have tickets for the West End revival next month. Maybe that one will move on past it’s limited run?
But then again, he's at The Venetian in Las Vegas...talk about mixed messages! LOL

Yeaaahhhh noticed that as well which now makes me recall that The Venetian is where The Las Vegas residency of Phantom of the Opera was. Which means they have a theatre there all ready to take in another musical for residency which makes me wonder is he gonna take it to Vegas so that he can keep up with his commitments to DWTS in LA on his off days?
This certainly would never go to Vegas
The Phantom Theatre at The Venetian is gorgeous, it would be so nice if a big show like this could be staged there. Alas, I doubt it also.

A Vegas style singing in the rain would be pretty great and with him as the lead might sell very well but I highly doubt that would happen.
Is that theater currently empty?
"Singin' in the Rain" has long been a Las Vegas fixture.

Looks like it. They have a number of passing acts listed on their website starting in October but as far as I can tell none of them are in that particular theatre (The Venetian has 4) and even so none of them are more that a 1-5 night run. No residency.
If he can act, let's gooooooooooo!
I'll believe it when it actually opens.

That’s said. I would have thought an overblown Phantom would have done so well in Vegas.

A six year run is nothing to sneeze at. While it never recouped, remember that the price of the forty million dollar theatre was included along with the capitalization for the rest of the production itself.
The one advantage a revival of Singin' in the Rain might have if it opened in Vegas is that they can justify a one act, 90-95 minute structure. That eliminates the issue that many stage adaptations of movie musicals run into when they are trying to pad out the script and score to meet a more standard 2 act format (the movie itself runs just over 100 minutes).
Don't think this show could be done without an intermission. The title number is the Act 1 closer and, unless they get rid of the actual rain, I doubt they could just segue right into the next scene.

Yeah, this is happening as soon as Harvey Weinstein is out of jail and back on top!
Wonder what advancements have been made in on-stage rain technology since the original lol

The London production from a few years ago was spectacular. Such a fantastic night of theatre.

The Paris production that was rumored to transfer was so grey and dreary! The movie was not black and white, we need technicolor all around!
Discussion of a revival before 2022 at the earliest is moot as he’s been feted to return next season as a judge for “Dancing With The Stars”.

Let's hope any new production of this show is re-worked. The original Broadway version of it was flatter than a pancake.

He can still do other things as he’s only required to be on DANCING WITH THE STARS on show day: Monday. With the occasional pre-taped segments every so often. Judge Len Goodman did his entire run as a judge on the show living in England. He flew in Monday morning for the live Monday show then was back in England Tuesday morning.

The only production this needs to be (if it happens) is the Charleston production. It was sensational. Incredible choreography and design.
The recent (ish) London production is simply not Broadway worthy.
