The deadline was apparently extended by 12 hours until noon today and it is being reported that notice of compliance has been filed with the court:

Thanks for the updates - much appreciated!
I still want to see it to believe it. I'm periodically monitoring MS-NOW's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SvjzURhZO0 ), waiting for that tarp to come down.
Thanks, Steve!

Oh, enough with this nonsense. Peel off those disgusting letters (did they use double-sided tape?) and let’s move on. They used a cherry picker the first time, why scaffolding now? As I’ve said before, that slob’s name was added in record time. It can be removed at the same speed.

Forgive me for thinking people might find it to be 15 seconds of mild amusement despite it being Ai-generated.
To begin repenting for this heinous misjudgement, I confessed my misguided choice at Mass this evening.

TRUMPS name is gone!

Not good enough.
A tarp still remains, obscuring the Kennedy name as the official title of the facility. There is no indication of when the tarp will be removed, nor presence of workers who may need to complete any cosmetic restoration of the facade.
It seems to me that Trump is taunting Americans, having completed only the specific instruction outlined in the court order:
"In a court filing on Saturday, lawyers representing the Kennedy Center said it is now in 'full compliance' with the court order to ditch Trump's name, specifically noting it has removed signage 'that purports to rename the Kennedy Center after President Trump.'" (https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/tarp-still-blocks-kennedy-center-143755808.html)
IMO, Americans shouldn't be celebrating, or acknowledging the task as "completed" until the facade is completely restored to its original condition before Trump's alteration, and the scaffolding and tarp are removed..

"Judge Orders Kennedy Center to Make a Plan for Staying Open
As the Trump administration seeks to move forward with renovations at the center, a judge has asked for its programming calendar."

"In his order, delivered late last month, Judge Cooper found that the board had “based its decision on an insufficient, one-sided presentation of information and neglected to consider the full range of its statutory obligations and potential adverse consequences of closure on programming and memorial functions.”
”The judge said he would not prevent the board from proceeding with a two-year closure if it scrutinized the potential consequences and made a “considered, independent decision.”

"Kennedy Center says it will stay open for now, but is not booking new shows
The center provided its first detailed response to a federal judge’s order temporarily blocking the two-year shutdown."

To my thinking, any talk re: a 2-year shutdown is a complete smokescreen/distraction from finishing the job of Trump's name removal.
That scaffolding and tarp are still there - obscuring the Center's and Kennedy's name, and (I suspect) hiding a possibly defaced marble facade.
They (whomever "they" may effectively be) need to get their priorities straight and order visual proof of completion. That document the board submitted is completely meaningless when they're allowed to get away with this literal cover-up regarding completion.
I'd really like to see both Trump and the Kennedy Center's board be fined, per day, for defacing of government property until there is visual proof that the facade is satisfactorily restored.

Wouldn’t shock me if “Trump” is still on the facade, hence the tarp remaining up. Man, Washington DC is trashed right now. The White House is a disaster. The reflecting pool is a mess. The Kennedy Center is covered with a tarp. Multiple government buildings have massive banners with that greasy orange face staring down. Truly, everything he touches turns to crap.

"New photos show first look at Kennedy Center facade without Trump’s name
The images were taken from inside the tarp-covered scaffolding that has blocked the public’s view for more than a week."

This should not be taking 9 days for "Maintenance". In the pics it appears the marble has been repaired. Doing a search on repairing/restoring marble, I read that it should take about half a day.

No. Still unacceptable.
One very easily manipulated photo (especially from that angle) is NOT proof of anything other than being additional implication of public deceit.
Who was allowed to take that photo? There is no printed photo credit, as there would be were it taken by a legitimate photographer.
Given Trump's smokescreen tantrums, and cries for "10-year" sentences for innocent people who happened to be in the wrong place at a convenient time for Trump, there's no way in Trump-hell that someone was allowed to climb the scaffolding, behind the tarps, unnoticed, and take a photo - unless they were Trump-appointed to do so.
If this scenario were legitimate, the tarps and scaffolding would be gone so that an unaccredited photo wouldn't need to be taken surreptitiously.
I ain't buyin' it. NOT AT ALL.

I'm simply sharing updates as I see them in generally reputable media. You all can choose to make of the reporting what you want.

I get that, Steve. Apologies for my rant.
"Helga, I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt!"

The article says when the photo was taken and who provided it to the Post.
Posted: 6/23/26 at 1:59pm
The caption below the photo from The Washington Post says, "A photo taken last week", but I don't see any photo credit. I would expect to see the copyright symbol with a credit in either the left or right bottom edge of the photo. The Post article linked to is only one sentence long.
There's a Forbes article that lists the provider as, Hands Off the Arts, but that's not a photo credit, nor is that an indication of how it was obtained.

Again, the article explains how they got the picture and who they got it from. I would expect that since it was through a group, there was no individual credit given.
