Why until 6/12? Take those miserable letters down TODAY. God knows his name went up fast enough. It can be removed just as quickly. Then plaster over the holes in the wall and never allow a stunt like this again.

My hope was for them to have some sort of event with big name singers performing while they remove that piece of sh*t’s name and then put the letters in a pile and set them on fire.

If you're seriously asking, it is because it can take a few days to get the company out to remove the letters. It's not like tearing a poster off a telephone pole. You've got a cherry picker, trained staff, and more.

I’m being half serious. All I know is his name went up in record time. Absolutely no reason the removal should be slow walked…even though we all know it will be.

I'm sure it'll take a few days to ensure the facade of the building is properly taken care of (taking something down can sometimes by more of a project than putting it up.)
That being said, an AP Photographer took the picture in this article this afternoon of a flatbed truck w/a cherry picker that just happened to park right outside the Center today....

I like the ideas of tarring and feathering, and stomping on the letters that are posted above. I prefer more of a "The Help" approach, though:
I'd like to see at least one letter pulverized into fine dust, then mixed into a McDonald's hamburger patty and served to him unknowingly. They could sprinkle some w/salt over his fries, and blend even more into a shake as well.

It's Saturday morning @ ~7:00 AM CST and I've only been able to find one photo online that shows the Kennedy Center, indicating Trump's name has been removed. The photo shows the facade masked with a tarp which makes me wonder if the tarp is hiding holes that still need to be patched.
The caption for the picture reads (in part): "A tarp covers the newly removed name of US President Donald Trump from the facade of the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, US, on Saturday, June 13, 2026."
When I query AI, "Has Trump's name been removed from the Kennedy Center?", the response is: "Yes, Trump's name is expected to be removed from the Kennedy Center following a federal judge's ruling that it was added illegally." Note how the response says, "is expected to be removed".

I imagine AI will only give a more definitive response when a sufficient number of media confirmations that the name is down begin to appear. The landing pages of the Washington Post and New York Times right now both say "Workers begin removing Trump’s name from Kennedy Center."

I agree with what you wrote, but I find the reality of the situation troubling.
Any headline that starts, "Workers Begin..." is not only inaccurate, it's "old news".
The deadline was midnight last night. The US has always had "up-to-the-minute" news coverage. Unless we're all in a country where the media is under complete control of the government, I don't see why this particular story is lagging so far behind in its coverage.
