Basically, the Trump crony-packed board is drafting a resolution ahead of a meeting on Tuesday to say that the Center is at risk of insolvency but that Trump has offered financial support to the institution... but will not do so unless he is honored in an inscription on the building. Effectively, they are attempting to hold it hostage.

There is absolutely no reason why the Kennedy Center needs to be sold to a private operator and given its structure any such changes would require an act of Congress regardless.

That’s been my thought all along. He’s a real estate developer. He wants to develop the property. The less of the building that remains, the more Trump stuff he can put in its place. He’s always had his eye on the property alone, not the Arts.
