Lol CATS.
My sentiments exactly.
Sorry but I cannot get moist over the release of a cast album of any show.
Be real, Roxy. You can't get moist period.
Never assume Cats. You know how the rest of the saying goes.
So when can we expect this to be released digitally?
They just tweeted that it'll be on their site on Friday and then everywhere else on Aug 7th.
^ Thank you! I am really excited for this cast recording!
Do they mean on their site in digital format? That's usually what they do but the tweet doesn't really specify.
I assume that's what they mean. That's what's happened for the past few releases
It's strange that there is no song list. And it's not even listed for pre-order on iTunes... is that normal?
It's normal for Broadway Records. Supposedly the track list will be released tomorrow with the digital download but you're right in that most other labels would have released a track list by now.
And I guess their digital albums don't go up at midnight either.

Looks like it will have been worth the wait.
I'm absolutely loving this recording. I love that they included some dialogue. Danny Troob's orchestrations sound incredible as always.
My only real gripe is that they didn't record the opening dialogue in the prologue and maybe a little more dialogue in the opening number over all. There's so much that happens in the first ten minutes of the show, mostly exposition, but it would have helped the listener at home to follow along. The opening eulogy bit would have helped to bookend the recording as it does the show. To reduce that ten minute opening to 5:26 is a bit of a shame BUT I think it only bothers me because I love the show so much and just wanted them to record everything which is an unrealistic expectation. They recorded so much elsewhere it's really not fair to complain. They recorded almost every little reprise and the sound quality is excellent. It truly sounds exceptional. I know not everyone will love it, but I hope people who didn't get to see the show listen to this recording and love what they hear and maybe question why they didn't make more of an effort to see it.
^ Agreed, I would have liked them to have the opening eulogy as well, but it's really the only minor gripe I have. Kelli Barrett and Tam Mutu both sound exceptional.
Don't overexcite me, my cantilevered bustier may cause me to topple over. I've ordered the disc.
"Love Finds You" is a standout too. The cast is in great voice and its invigorating to hear a properly mastered studio recording with the orchestra and vocals so carefully blended versus a bootleg or the video from the press event which I was listening to before this.
I bought it twice, Eurotrash. No way I was going to be able to wait a week for my CD to get to me. I don't feel bad about it.
Nor should you.

It's a shame the quality of the press event audio is so poor. It probably dissuaded people (not everyone because Zhivago's numbers were just not great) from seeing the show and contributed to the bad word of mouth.
Anyway, I can't wait for the album to come in the mail.
I remember from the show there being a sweet reprise of Watch the Moon sung in the second act. I didn't hear it on the recording when I listened through today, but admittedly I was doing other stuff while listening. Did anyone catch where/if it is in the recording?
