Oh, I absolutely think that Danny Burstein is talented. Absolutely, I do. I think he's a fantastic, wonderful performer. I just didn't like him in this role. I didn't like the role, and I didn't like the way it was written/directed.

Cry me a river, Munky.

And the masses plunk down hard cash to see our Danny boy send it over the top

and then some!

Well, I've never even met Mr. Burstein and I found his performance outstanding -- hilarious, appropriately over-the-top (given the sort of character he was parodying), and very well sung. I hope he gets a Tony nod.

Danny's got credits galore, from Titanic, A Class Act, Company...

Here's a little more info on this triple threat:

He was BRILLIANT in this show, and completely appropriate in all respects for such a character.

Tony voters, take note.

There are certain roles in the show that could easily have been overacted and thus turn to crap. I'm so glad Beth and Danny are appropriate in their roles and know how to get a laugh without trying too hard.

First of all, I ADORE Danny Burstein, he was one of my favorite parts of Drowsy! And I also love him in Weird Romance!

With that said, who is familiar with the title song to Dames at Sea? I think some inspiration for the character of Adolpho may have come from the captain in this song who says "Whaaat?" in quite a similar way! Check it out. (I don't think this has already been said, but excuse me if it has.) re: Drowsing for the Talented Danny Burstein

[title of show] on Broadway. it's time. believe.

Aldolpho is my absolute favorite character from any show I've ever seen. "I Am Aldolpho" is my favorite song from any show I've ever seen. I'm constantly reading the lyrics and singing the song to myself. Hooray for DB in TDC!

Will that saintly Drowsy Chaperone Beth Leavel and the rakish Adolpho Danny Burstein swiftly sweep the Tonys by their stunning singing and obsessed sexploits?
