I have been traveling for nine months and I return to New York to finish moving out my things next weekend. I have four days and I would love to see a show, but I won't have time to wait in a rush line or even get there before 2 pm any day. What shows are known as an easy rush or lotto at the moment?
I got rush tickets to war paint at like 4pm for the evening show, so that could be a viable option. Also Indecent, Six Degrees of Separation, or you could try the Sweat todaytix rush.
Indecent is a pretty easy rush, and even if the rush tickets are gone, they will no doubt have cheap seats available.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
SWEAT is also very easy to do, as it's done on the TodayTix app, and all you have to do is show up a little before the show starts do pick up the tickets.
INDECENT is also easy
(Have yet to do it) But I've heard Six Degrees of Separation is also fairly easy.
In the past I've also had success with the Phantom online lottery, On Your Feet, and Cats are also almost always easy.
Groundhog Day's seems to announce winners for all their non-premium unsold seats (including a lot of the rear mezz). Then day-of they must release the unsold portion to TDF. If you log on right when they send out the winners, you can sometimes get nice seats.
I would win a third to half the time I entered, until I found a day when I logged in on time and got a good seat.
Just FYI, my friend got to the War Paint BO at 11:30 today and got the last available rush ticket. It looks like it got harder or it's just the many people in town this week.
Bandstand also appears to be quite easy, and they have that bit more expensive "secondary rush" later in the day.
I don't consider myself to be lucky when it comes to lotteries but recently I've won Sunset Blvd, Six Degrees of Separation, Lion King, and Groundhogs Day on the first or a few tries.
To report back: I decided to rush War Paint. Friday I got to the box offixe around 2:15 pm and they seemed to have recently sold the last rush ticket. However, she had many rear mezz seats for $49 and $59. I took a $59 and had a great view.

Rushed for the 6/10 matinee. Got there around 8:10am and third on line. Asked if box seats were available for rush and got them with ease. The box seats have a spectacular view and little to nothing is missed. They are also NOT marked as obstructed view.
I think OP's settled, but for anyone else Anastasia is an easy one to get SRO for. I picked up a pair at 5pm for Saturday 8pm and there were two more that went unsold.
I've lost the lotto to Sunset many times now, but I did win twice.
