It's not that demanding.

I am quite certain Amber Gray is on vacation this week and you are going to see Afra Hines as Persephone tomorrow.

Was REALLY looking forward to seeing her.
How’s Agra Haines as an Understudy? Does she come close to matching the energy in what I’ve seen from clips of Amber Gray’s performance?

Not sure, tonight is her Persephone debut. There is a video of her singing “Our Lady of the Underground” and she sounds great!

I think this will be the first time I’ve ever seen a Broadway show, both with the National Tours or on Broadway, where one of the main lead performers is out. From the pics and clips I’ve seen of Amber Gray she looks phenomenal. Really hate that I’ll miss her. Hope I’m not disappointed in Afra Hines.

Posted: 8/27/19 at 1:38pmHow demanding is Eva's role? She had amazing attendance in Miss Saigon, it's so unfortunate she's having health problems.

Euridyce is nowhere near as big a sing as Kim. I hope she will be OK long-term. She sounded glorious when I saw her in April.

Posted: 8/27/19 at 2:41pmI personally don’t find Eurydice to be a demanding role. I find that role to be the least demanding out of all the principals. I do love Eva and find her extremely talented, so I do hope she takes a good amount of time to rest, and doesn’t push herself.

That may be true but at the same time there was an alternate who performed on all Wed/Sat matinees.

Sorry. I thought this was pretty much a Hadestown thread as were most all the replies here.

Posted: 8/31/19 at 1:20pmJust a heads up to Hadestown fans- both performances on 2/26 are ungodly cheap, especially the mat. Just picked up row c mezz for 61 each before fees.
-Jeff Bowen's worst onstage line flub.

It would be shocking if she was in considering she is on vacation until next Tuesday, which has been discussed several times on Hadestown threads.

If I recall correctly, she has another project coming up. Has she announced a departure date? I just found out today that I’m for sure going to be in NYC for work in early January. I’m actually going to fly in a couple days early to see extra shows. I’m torn between seeing all new shows (I think I’ll have 10 slots - two of which are already taken) or revisiting Hadestown and Oklahoma!
When I saw Hadestown, Eva was out so I’d love to see it with her. If she has already left the show by then, I might opt for something new instead. I notice Tuesdays are considerably cheaper than Friday thru Saturday.
Anyone know?

I can’t answer how long she’ll be with the show, but Eva and everyone else was in tonight. Show was magical (and I rarely say that).
