I'm curious about this--
This is my first post and I for some arbitrary reason want to know people's favorite Tony Awards Performances.
Some of mine are both of the Falsettos performances (1992 and 2017), Company 2007, Guys and Dolls 2009, and Hadestown 2019. There's a lot of really good ones, though.

Best ever is Grand Hotel. The Life is also pretty awesome. The Nathan Lane revival of Guys and Dolls and the Matthew Broderick/Lillias White How to Succeed also rank high for me.

Three words: Turkey Lurkey Time
Michael Jeter in Grand Hotel, 'Sunday' from the original SITPWG, and Patti LuPone belting out Anything Goes
Has to be Grand Hotel.

I noticed a lot of people loved Grand Hotel. I thought that one was excellent as well and I'm not really sure why I didn't list it
It wasn't the first I thought of, though
My history with Grand Hotel has been a little odd though so maybe I just forget it exists sometimes
1974 Tony Awards: “At Charlie’s Place” from OVER HERE! featuring Ann Reinking & John Mineo’s frantically insane jitterbug, plus Marilu Henner, Treat Williams, and John Travolta in the ensemble.
Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur recreating BOSOM BUDDIES on the 1987 Tonys.

It’s strange because so many shows I’ve looked forward to seeing perform have not really liked up to my anticipation (they seem to either choose the wrong song or adapt it weirdly. Or just perform the same cut that they’ve performed for the last four weeks on every promo ). Some the performances that I remember really striking me ( and in cases brought me to see the show): Next to Normal ( sound issues aside when I saw it I thought who are these people and I want to hear more). Spring Awakening ( it felt taboo and yet wanted more). Of course for archival video Dreamgirls.
Grand Hotel
Evita
Ragtime
Anything Goes 1988
You're a Good Man Charlie Brown 1999
Pippin 2013
The Book of Mormon
Dreamgirls
The 1994 Opening Medley of Revivals
Neil Patrick Harris' 2013 Opening
A few underrated ones that I wouldn't say are among the best but that I've always enjoyed: The Wedding Singer, The Civil War, Little Me (mainly because of Martin Short and his mic not working), Steel Pier, Catch Me If You Can, Romance/Romance, Memphis
Liza and company doing “City Lights” from THE ACT…and definitely GRAND HOTEL!

How am I the first person here to say Betty Buckley in CATS?
I relisten to her belt out "TOOOOUUCCHHH MEEEEEE!!!!" at least once a week.
Brilliantly done, even though it was truncated.
And Rosie's 3 Divas opening with Evita, Dreamgirls and CATS is insanely good too.
Pearl Bailey receiving a special Tony Award and performing "So Long, Dearie" in 1968.
Robert Klein and Lucie Arnaz performing "They're Playing Our Song" in 1979.

The opening number from the 2009 Tonys is unmatched.

Nothing will ever top the opening number of the 2013 Tony Awards

I really love how everybody has a totally different opinion but also even though they're all stating their opinions as fact, they're not actually fighting over it or anything>
Doug Sills and the Pimpernel company with “Into The Fire”.
Tony Roberts and the How Now, Dow Jones company with “Step to the Rear” - totally charming and full of visual wit.
And not the Tonys, but it could have been - Alice Playten and the Henry, Sweet Henry company with “Poor Little Person” on the Ed Sullivan show.
Bebe and co doing “all that jazz” followed into “hot honey” w reinking. They had already won so many Tony’s, their joy was obvious.
it’s an odd one but I love Sarah Jessica singing “shy”. I really enjoyed her as princess Fred, teen me saw it a few times.
“beauty and the beast” obc medley.
loved the “sunset” year. Norman’s house the entire show.
Alice and Emily singing I’ll never leave you
In terms of opening numbers, I dont think anything will beat the 2013 opener.
