I'm not familiar with people getting in trouble on here. What has happened to them?
They're forced to sit through Wicked 8 shows a week.
I will be disappointed if FINIAN'S RAINBOW doesn't open in the Fall. The score is so wonderful, especially "Look to the Rainbow" which is often omitted when discussing the songs. And the St. James is not as large as some of the NYC theatres. GYPSY with LuPone played to consistently less than sold out houses and must have broken even to have lasted a year. And the Times gave the ENCORES! production such a rave review. It is time for a revival, with a recording too.
St. James sits 1710 according to IBDB. I'd say that's pretty big for a revival of Finian's Rainbow.
I'd be happy to have another recording. While I enjoy the Irish Rep's recent recording, it'd be nice to have a full orchestra.
Maybe it's just me, but I knew "That Old Devil Mood" and "Look to the Rainbow" prior to purchasing the cast recording. I assume others would know some songs too which I think is a plus when some people are deciding whether or not to see a show. I can see why that might not be enough though.

Could there be a possible role for Bailey Hanks from this weeks Bway Secrets....
I thought "new" literally meant...new.

Well Bailey doesn't seem like the smartest person in the world, she DID cry over getting her hair cut.

I also don't think she actually made that secret.
There isn't even a role for her in Fininan's Rainbow. Not even in the chorus.
she said she wasn't playing the ditzy blonde, but maybe she's playing the dumb blonde.

It didn't. They might have recouped if they had actually lasted the full year they were supposed to, but they closed two months early and ended up not recouping.
Well, I for one hope it opens if only for the cast to make a new recording of the score. And hopefully, the majority of the Encores! cast will be the ones doing the recording.
FR is no means an arena filling type of show, but the score is gorgeous. And the book was so timely, as I learned from watching the Encores! production.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that this show gets revived.

Seriously, I'm hearing from various sources that the prospects for this show are getting dimmer by the minute.
Well if it does come in, ( the site which shall not be named) is now saying Woody will be played by either Jarrod Emick or Andy Karl. Both are a bit boring, but I think either could do an adequate job.
At least Karl is a lot more enigmatic than Emick.

Sorry, Jared is NOT boring. Picky, maybe, but not boring.
Emick is too old, IMO.
I agree he's too old. Though it would be delightful to see Emick replace Jackso just as Jackson replaced Emick.
Karl would be great. He's yet to have the breakout role he needs. And he'd be wise to abandon the 9 to 5 ship before it sinks.

I'm not meaning to go on a rampage about Jarrod Emick. But he's got a great voice, a lot of charisma and might be a decided plus to the revival, if and when it happens. A star-making performance? No. A welcome addition to the ensemble? Yes.

But they've already spent so much money making the logo! Might as well just put it on
I won't believe that Jarrod Emick is in anything until I actually see him set foot on the Broadway stage after opening night.
Not 100% sure if this was Finian's Rainbow or not, but I thought I'd share.
I saw James Snyder at the Marquis stage door, and he was talking to one of the doormen, whom (who? I've never gotten it right) I am friends with. James was saying that he came in for the day to try to get this show that was supposed to open at the St. James, but it's not going to anymore.
I wasn't in the position to get more info, but that's what I heard. Could've been cool though!
