looks like some frug, big spender, all that jazz, cabaret, who's got the pain.....
I am stoked.
This excites me to no end. We don’t see much from that trailer, but I’m still so glad that FX took a shot on this.
I am so glad I upgraded my cable service and FX along with DVR is included! And a friend of mine is in it also!
They will be shooting this a couple more months I'm sure, so it will probably be on in the Fall. Brilliant.

Trailer said APRIL!!
Whoops! The word April was so small I totally missed it. How exciting!
Looks amazing! Beyond excited!
Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon’s daughter Nicole Fosse is Co-Executive Producer so she supervised all aspects of the production, especially the recreation of her father’s work/choreography. This is a fully authorized 8-part mini-series by the Fosse/Verdon Estate.

Looks to be authenticI think I caught a glimpse of a dancer with Suzanne Charnys topknot long ponytail from the film version of SWEET CHARITY. I am so looking forward to this!
Lots of glimpses - and I will watch - but somehow, I think I'm going to just want to watch All That Jazz again.

Wonderful. Can hardly wait. I scrolled down the responses expecting to see the usual mix of wariness and skepticism and dismissiveness and .... well, it mostly generated excitement and anticipation. They made a spot that even Fosse would have loved. I am very hopeful for this and will be ready and waiting this April!
The quick cuts are highly reminiscent of the editing in the film version of Chicago.

Since all of these quick cuts are between numerous different sequences it's impossible to say whether the show itself will employ this style based simply on a minute long teaser trailer.
Is this planned to be a multi-season series? I noticed it said "SEASON 1."

FX labels all their series in seasons, even their limited series. FOSSE/VERDON is only an 8-episode series. It’s not a potential series so there will not be a Season 2. Similar to the 8-episode series FEUD: Bette & Joan, which FX also labeled as Season 1.

Though technically Feud was meant to be another anthology series. However, the second season, which was going to be focused on Charles and Diana, starting with their divorce and ending with her death, was scrapped back in August and I haven't heard any plans for a new focus/season since then.
Looks a lot like ALL THAT JAZZ.

FOSSE/VERDON and ALL THAT JAZZ share the same source material, though ALL THAT JAZZ solely covers Bob Fosse’s life circa 1975 (when he was developing CHICAGO for Broadway and editing the film LENNY).
FOSSE/VERDON covers Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon’s partnership as his career as a choreographer/director didn’t evolve until they started working together. This 8-part series covers all their Broadway/dance work together including his films, which she assisted him on as well as their unique marriage (they never divorced) and raising their daughter Nicole.
Season 2 is confirmed with Webber/LuPone: Backyard Pool Wars
