i definately think some of the song-to-dialogue bits were...interesting on the ear, shall we say, for people who have known them sung for sooo long! but i keep saying when people ask me about the movie...i LOVE some of the added dialogue bits...the "merry christmas, b*tches!" and the little scene with drunk Angel "i saw this on tv!" they were new and exciting and fun little stuck in things. (does that make ANY sense? haha)

agreed -- the rhyming would've thrown of the dialogue.
i'm okay with some of it being spoken. it was weird, and i'm upset that they cut some songs, but i'd rather the lyrics get turned into dialogue than get cut entirely.
Absolutely, kook. I liked the new things they threw in - it made the material fresher and the characters more real. LOOOVED "Merry Christmas, bitches!"

i keep the reviews and read them when i feel "safe" enough...
also - always hated hearing "who's in the audience" before the show...
my show is for EVERYONE who bought a ticket - not just the celebs...
still reading you guys comments on the dialogue...
"Merry Christmas, bitches" was hilarious. Along with all of the jokes about Mark and Maureen.
Oh, God, I hate when they tell you who's in the audience. Meryl Streep's daughter went to my high school and she came to see the musical, which I was the lead in, and of course my director had to come up before the show and inform me that she was there. No pressure, no pressure.

i loved:
"poo-kie."
"shut up"
"hey guys, our SH*T's back!"
"hi mark, happy new year mark"
"hey, stop, it's not my bar mitzvah"
"maybe now you two can get back together"

"Merry Christmas, bitches!":
'Tis my away message.
God, I love Jesse.
God I love the whole damn cast!
oh i LOVED "maybe now you too can get back together" i laughed SO HARD!
LOL, yes "Hey guys, our sh*t's back" had me laughing.
One of the (about three) things I didn't like was the end of "Rent," with everyone throwing fire out the windows. First of all, how unsafe, and secondly, don't they need the fire to keep warm? Why throw it out the window?

Had that happen to me once- was in The Sound of Music just before they were casting the tour in my city. Someone decided to tell me that the casting director was in the audience. It was *wonderful*.
My favorite was "Well, there's always Buzzline" *shoves chip in mouth and chews like a cow*

Oh gosh the Mark/Maureen jokes were so sad, I just wanted to give Anthony a hug!!!!!!
My favorite part of the movie was the way Anthony said "Pookie", and of course, my new myspace headline, "Hey guys, all our ****'s back!" Hmm basically all of Anthony's lines were my favorite part

yea i know how you feel---well maybe not about celibrities, but agents or someone really well known in the community. Then the whole time everyone in the show is trying to spot them out or play the show specifically to one person..

regarding throwing the fire out the window, i was thinking the SAME thing. mark and roger burn all of their possessions, then throw them out into the street. HUH?
I haven't been able to see Rent yet! Can you believe it? They aren't showing it at the movie theatre in my town, so I'll have to go an hour and a half away to see it.
The tour is coming to St Louis I think in March..I'm going to see the stage version then. I've never had a chance to see it, just listen to the music and read the libretto and stuff. Crazy huh?
