I thought this production was such fun!
Sad to see it go.
John Stamos, Bill Irwin, the energetic teenagers in the cast, the creative team, the direction and production, set and lighting designers did a phenomenal job.
It was a delight to see this revival! Sorry to the ones that didn't enjoy it.

As Bette Davis said in Of Human Bondage, "Good riddance to bad rubbish."
I didn't love the production but I did love it for the sheer fact that I was able to see Birdie on a stage. Best of luck to the cast and crew!
Goodbye and good riddance.
Aside from my personal disappointment at one of the most misguided and miscast revivals ever, this probably means that there won't ever be a first-class production of Birdie on Broadway for years and years to come, if ever.
Another week passes and another favorite TV uncle departs. Why art thou so cruel January?
TimesSquareRegular, why do you say that? Just looking at GYPSY, and the upcoming LA CAGE, shows get revived within a few years of previous revivals all the time.

This production has grown on me, it really has, it's cute and nothing more. While I feel some roles were terribly miscast I am a little said to see it go; Bye Bye Birdie.
I love when Kim gets confused and says "Men are all the same, from puberty to Musolini"(sp?)
LOL!

I wish all my best to the cast in the rest of their endeavors.
It was a fun run, and I'm glad to have caught it.
Let's not forget this was the inaugural show of the new Henry Miller Theater

I saw the show twice and just loved everything about it. It was one of those high energy shows that can make someone's day. This had to be one of the most memorable shows I have seen and i will miss it terribly : ( bye bye birdie <3
It was so cute! Maybe not good (definitely miscast in more than one case), but I love the show so much anyways. So sad to see it go so soon.
Anyone remembers how much of the song "Bye Bye Birdie" Kim sings at the end, right before the curtain call?
Also, was the song that Vanessa Williams sings in the tv-movie version "Let's Settle Down" part of the original production of this show?
I believe Allie Trimm only sings:
"Bye Bye Birdie
I'm Gonna miss ya so
Bye Bye Birdie
Why'd ya hafta go?"
Then she is joined by some more of the kids for the next verse.
"Lets Settle Down" was only in the 1995 TV movie. It was not in the 1960 original production, the 1963 movie, or the Tommy Tune tour in the '90s.
LOVE that av, WAT!!!
Thanks, I think you are right, I love that Kim MacAffee gets to sing that at the end.
Allie was very good, but her understudy Catherine Blades felt more appropiate for the role, but since Allie had previously starred on Broadway I am sure the producers felt she was a safer bet.
It reminded me of what happened with Laura Benanti and Tina Maddigan in The Wedding Singer, although Laura was a bit better vocally, Tina was more appropiate for the role of Julia Sullivan.
Did anyone else get to see understudies go on in this revival of Birdie?

I saw Daniel Quadrino go on as Hugo Peabody!
i saw the show twice so his hugo and matt's hugo were very different...Danny's was os innocent and cute and he threw a punch really well!...his voice is so pretty and soothing! matt's hugo is amazing also! Danny resembles matt alot in the looks department but they are both very different actors..their voices resemble each other in the slightest bit i heard Daniel sing in One Boy...the scene where Hugo is in disguise is HYSTERICAL with daniel because...he looks so young and it really makes the scene work when he has the mustache on..I mean matt looks young but Daniel looks so young on stage... He is only 18! ...he was great as his other character in the show also...He dances really well and my eye went right to him when he was on stage. Also daniel and allie seem look about the same age on stage so it was so innocent and cute during one boy it made me so happy and feel gitty!...it would have been great to see Catherine as Kim and Daniel as Hugo together since ...rumor has it they are dating! [cough tweets] I LOVED BYE BYE BIRDIE...it was such a feel good show!
Wife and I thought it was cute. Only part I wasn't crazy about was "Put On a Happy Face" when all I could see was Dick Van Dyke doing the part. Stamos seemed to be imitating DVD rather than putting his own spin on it... Nobody can do DVD but DVD.

I only saw the show twice. One time no understudies, and the other time Catherine Blades as Kim. When i saw Catherine as Kim, i felt like she lacked something. I don't know what it was but something was just off with her performance.
When i saw the show the second time i was blown away by Allie Trimm. Seeing her this time around made me smile because I knew that she was meant for this part.
That performance two things went wrong. During Telephone Hour it seemed like Catherine Blades forgot her lyrics during part of her solo. I can't put my finger on what else went wrong that night.
I am very disappointed to see this production leave so fast. Many of those kids up there have a great future in store for them!

This was not groundbreaking theater---but I enjoyed it anyway!
I especially thought the ensemble cast was very talented---I actually watched them more than the stars!
