Thanks for this post. I was thinking that there might not be any for a few days based on the message on the website.
I will be spending a bit of money there this week!

I worked these last 4 weekends just incase this is as iconic as it seems and I need extra money to go.
Bloody hell this looks like a banger, my struggles appear worth it. Excited for reviews.

No Judge’s Joanna according to the Playbill.

Did they sell additional rush, or was it just a cancellation line?

better look at the set
Set is giving original Les Miserables vibes with a pinch of Wicked. Very excited for this one!

Kind of looks like the Harry Potter preshow.

Holy crap this is fantastic. Anyone worried Ashford is miscast can rest assured she has found her Mrs. Lovett and it’s just fantastic. Josh sounds incredible and, for a first preview, is an excellent Sweeney so far.

Quick thoughts.
Groban is amazing. His descent into madness during Epiphany was perfection.
funniest Priest I’ve ever seen.
Ashford is very funny but I’d like some more power in her vocals. She and Groban are a great team, and lots of sexual chemistry.
so far it’s a funnier Sweeney than I’ve seen before. Lots of laughs. Factory whistle is cut as of now, unfortunately.
not sure I liked how choreographed the Ballad was, but we got the full funeral/organ prelude! Orchestra is simply glorious.
Audience near me is a nightmare. Some girl sang along to most of Priest. Beyond annoying.

Oh em geeee. You're killing me. How is the orchestra and the ensemble? Glorious as expected?

I think her mic might need to be boosted and that would help with the vocals you were talking about but I do agree with you.

How's the set?
Posted: 2/26/23 at 4:56pm
Yep, there appears to be some sound/mic issues throughout.

God that(sound)’s good!

I have a friend there, too. She's also singing its praises! Can't believe I have to wait until mid-April!

I am usually not a fan of Ashford’s schtick, but I think she’s FANTASTIC here! Agreed with the need for some more powerful vocals, but think that can come over time.
Only weak link for me is Jordan Fisher. Otherwise, it’s just perfect!

Fisher needs accent work PRONTO.

Is the audience a **** show near you too? Crinkling bags of candy nonstop, about a half dozen people got up in the middle of the act to pee, and the singing along.
