Groff's Gorgeous Apartment

A bit too "designer's choice," for me, but it is a rich and eclectic mix of furnishings that do indeed make for a lovely home.

A lovely space. I’m jealous.

I'm not judging, but I don't understand why he (or anybody else) would share his personal sanctuary like this. His bedroom is a “refuge from the demands of public life", so he shares it with the world in photos?

It just seems like such an invasion of personal space. I could never.

Is there some practical reason for this? He gets a deal on the name-checked products? He's trying to help out his friend by advertising his work?

Again, I’m not judging, there's absolutely nothing wrong with his choice to do this, I just don’t understand why anyone would.

That is indeed a gorgeous apartment! Really love the yellow electric piano that goes with the decor.

Looks like this part of the article regarding his Tony-award-winning turn as Bobby Darin is an error?  "...says Groff, who earlier this spring ended a Tony-award-winning turn as the 1950s chart-topper Bobby Darin in Just in Time, and who was recently named to the TIME100 list of the most influential people of 2026."

Maybe trying to help the designer get work.  I never saw a designer physically in photos like this before.

I don't like the sofa.  Maybe in a different fabric.

The whole place reminds me of a bottle of a Tom Ford cologne.

Someone once told me almost all AD-style tours it's either the designer basically did it for free (and got a lot of free things for the space) in order to have to shown as a calling card OR they do them to help them sell the house/apartment.

Considering how obsessive his fans can be I agree sharing the layout of your home can be dangerous.

Gorgeous, but for a theatre kid, it seemed a little impersonal to me.  I could have been anyone's gorgeous apartment.  No awards on display or posters from some of the shows he had appeared in (or loved).

Someone posted hers when it came out. It is quite beautiful.

It's very pretty but doesn't really feel like a home, there's nothing personal. It's as warm as furniture showroom.

I thought I saw his Tony on display right under the tv.

I felt the same way. It looks like a beautiful suite in a high end designer hotel.

It was fun for me to compare personal tastes of the two (Groff vs Miller). Mostly I focused on their choices of art on their walls.

I definitely share Miller's over Groff's. There was only one piece in Groff's space that I coveted (that piece above his sofa with its desert theme - the car with its headlights on really drew me in).

I loved every piece in Miller's home. My particular favorites were: 1) the textile tapestry in her playroom, and 2) the Aurel K. Basedow artwork in her family room (and especially how the throw pillows pulled that piece into the seating).

I love the warmth of an autumn palate.

Also of note, these photos are staged and rarely resemble the homes as they are lived in. All appliances are removed from kitchens (everything off the counter - jars, personal decor, etc.), living rooms (coffee tables have staged decor), and bedrooms are also entirely cleared and redecorated. Years ago I assisted a photographer friend who photographed for AD and celebrities and luxury homes took hours to clear up the clutter and restage and redecorated for the photos. Even artwork was sometimes switched up in several homes. Even the most tidiest wealthy person doesn't live in a home that resembles a luxury home catalog.

It reminded me immediately of Karen and Lloyd's apartment in All About Eve. Which I've coveted since I was a teenager. People really do live like that in NYC. I say that as someone who lived in Manhattan 24 years and never lost my awe for, um, those who lived more like the Richards.

It's gorgerous!!!! Part of me wishes he would also show his first apartment in NYC back almost 20 years ago.

I’d say it’s his apartment and his choice to show it off. It’s also not like they showed us the floor plan and exterior of the place.

Because it’s staged. It is his home but AD has decorators remove clutter and have spaces visually minimalistic for photos. Even in maximalistic homes, decorators organize and stage the clutter to look tidier than in its lived-in state.
