I wonder if the music in his ear is slower
Sean Hayes & Cheno should do PROMISES PROMISES live.
PLEASE?!
Little Inez killed that section!
OMG. Run And Tell That. Blew the roof off.
Shahadi Wright Joseph. WOW.
Superb camera work and staging.

This is just outstanding. By far best live musical produced. Maddie is so much fun! Looking forward to Jennifer's performance, but this is a winner for sure.

The hair is uninspired - looks cheap and it is "styled" that way - too bad for a show called Hairspray.

Welcome to the 60s was EVERYTHING. Run and Tell that wasn't anything special, IMO. Felt like Sykes was way off. Little Inez was incredible though!!!
I love Derek, Maddie, Kristin and Harvey.
I don't like Dove Cameron, the guy playing Link, or Ariana Grande .

Jennifer's up next can't wait to see her perform. I think she's going to blow the roof off. Really impressed with the volume of costume changes for the show.

Nope. The mix is a little fat. Vocals aren't as on top of the mix. Welcome to modern sound design. Loud, loud, and louder.

Read in Variety (I think) close to 1000 people are working behind the scenes.

Could they get JH's tatas any more pushed up.
Jennifer is actually fantastic. Yaaas
Hope you have on your appropriate "pearl grabbing" pearls tonight. Don't clutch too hard, or you'll lose circulation.

Was that line in the show, or was it a Hamilton reference?
Hudson's acting already has more life here than as Shug.
That was so dead on I'm assuming Hamilton reference.
Maddie needs a Red Bull and seems a bit lacking in the star quality. Good voice, but isn't quite bringing it. Grande is miscast - nothing happening behind the eyes. Dove is the standout for the younger cast. Hitting every mark and her voice is gorgeous and interesting.
The "adults" are slaying it.
But the staging and direction are awful. Hard to beat the seemlessness of "Grease."
