Wow, this is a mess. Great performances, but really seems like this is their first run through.
By far the best of the live broadcasts! Aside from a few minor technical glitches, they're tearing it up! I bet the finale is going to be amazing! Can't wait to buy it on digital and rewatch it without the annoying commercial breaks and Darren Criss segues.
Timeless had such much fun in the theater. It fell flat here. They tried to sell it, but again, the direction is lame. Why stage it in front of a store front in darkness? It's a fantasy moment!

Does Harvey Smoke? Hilarious - don't know but the charm of the out of tune frog voice was over long ago, especially in musicals.

At the end of the day, I am totally fine with the tech glitches. It makes the experience so much more REAL and genuine. I don't want a perfectly polished live production because then it doesn't feel LIVE. Loving this so far.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm having a lot of fun with this show. Maddie Baillio, in my opinion, is killing it, and the rest of the cast isn't trailing far behind.
The only question I have is why they didn't put the reprise of "The Nicest Kids in Town" on the soundtrack.
This isn't a mess like PETER PAN was, but you'd think by now they would have figured out what makes these things work and what doesn't.
Audio is always a problem w anything live. Marty & Harvey were charming tho.
SAD they pulled The Big Doll House. Probably too "suggestive" for prime time.

I wish they would stop Clink from singing - because he cannot, and acting is not possible, but he's pretty

I agree with Timeless with me. Also gave the actors time to improve in the theatre to bring out a reaction. Can't do it in here.
You gotta admit they HAVE taken note of past problems. It's not perfect but this isn't even a recognizable format from past years. And it is way better.

"Doll House" was too suggestive, but Martin Short shaking Edna's boobs wasn't?

I think in this production in particular they're trying to cover a lot of ground. Even with the technical glitches, it's still fun. It's ambitious, so you've got further to fall, but its doing fine.
Ariana Grande. All tied up. On a bed.

Good Lord y'all, it's LIVE. Of course there are going to be glitches. Im loving it.

yeah cos it's really a man dressed UP like a lady!
Does every big number have to be followed by Criss with another moment from the "Muppet Show" ?
Andrea Martin was hilarious in her little part of "Without Love"
Mmmm... this director was binging on West Side Story movie. First the poorly executed Gym Number during Run And Tell That and now the street out Pingleton's house (thought that feels like it might have been in the original production too? Hairspray did have references like that, but I never saw the Broadway prod so don't have any way to know)

That's stuff with the prison was just ridiculous. I think going with the movie plot for this section would've been best. Onstage it's okay but on tv...meh

There's Ariana to remind us that California has some really great weed.
I'm finding the direction/camera work a tad sloppy...not as impressive as Grease Live.
