Bye Bye Birdie is trending on twitter lol.
I like Maddie-- just wish her Tracy was a bit more vulnerable ---
Jennifer Hudson just nailed it. That's how it's done, kids.
That blew my mind.
Bye Bye Birdie..
Or as the NBC singer says...Bye Bye BUHHH de

Amazing! She's definitely not a big girl but she certainly is blonde and beautiful.

Hudson has a vibrato or rather a bleet that a semi can drive through - annoying as it is in everything she sings - no restraint - subtlety is not in her lexicon - and that was evident in Color Purple; however, in this she can get away with it
she can get away with it whenever she wants because she's fabulous
"But the staging and direction are awful. Hard to beat the seemlessness of "Grease.""
Totally agree. The lighting design is pissing me off. The shadow on Jennifer's face was totally unacceptable. I know they wanted to do this all in the open lot, but the darkness simply doesn't work for a show like this. It needs more... joy. Kristin, Harvey, and Jennifer are all stunningly amazing! Dove is the only other character selling it.
Hudson didn't seem innately comfortable as Shug when she wasn't singing. This is more in her wheelhouse.

She's no Ruth Brown and neither was Latifa - neither hurt the role, but the artistry of Ruth has yet to be attained.
I am just trying to block out the Criss live segments and party reports. It is ruining tic flow of the broadcast for me. Overkill.
I like Maddie. Hudson is bringing her A game. Really enjoying her.

It's not in the soundtrack so I'm guessing yes.

Does Harvey Fierstein still smoke? It feels like his voice has been getting worse.
OMG... this is amazing. Best of all the live musicals so far I think.
Darren after Timeless to me:
"That was just great"
Why is this man not working for the New York Times?
Timeless to Me was wonderful. Glad I didn't tune out. Was thinking about it.
Lots of tech errors but the performers are really bringing it..
Did anyone catch Clayton Prince the original 1988 Seaweed from the 1988 film at the Philadelphia viewing party! Wow he's aged pretty well!

I particularly enjoyed his "Thirty seconds guys..." over the top of Martin and Harvey during the ending of timeless to me.
Does FOX plan to do any more musicals do we know?
