Hedwig's future

Sting didn't look to pleased that he was a participant at the Tony's. He was thumping his leg like he was into the song until the grind, that face was funny.

Posted: 7/29/14 at 9:46amI'd guess all of those people knew he would include them in the song, and were probably there for the rehearsal. If anything, I thought Sting was a little too obvious as a plant, since he put his hands up behind his head just before NPH came back to give him a lap dance.

I don’t think any of them were in the rehearsal (there’s a video of the rehearsal performance on YouTube), but I recall seeing somewhere that Neil said he texted some or all of them to give them a heads-up that he was going to do something, but didn’t tell them exactly what to expect.
Also just want to throw my two cents in: I LOVE Alan Cumming but do not see him as Hedwig at all. And I don’t think JCM has ruled out returning to the role. I watched an interview with him a couple days ago and he said something to the effect of “If I ever had to do it again…”

Posted: 7/29/14 at 10:10amSting would have been there, since he was also a performer/presenter. Either way, he certainly seemed to know to get his hands out of the way for his lap dance slightly before NPH doubled back to give it to him.

So his shocked face was bummer I dint think it would be the lappie?
#87Hedwig's future
Posted: 7/29/14 at 3:25pm^^ What? Clearly, he was expecting it and wasn't shocked.

No, don't get it if you've been told you are gonna be part of Hedwig, you either deal with it or refuse, he tried to look unhappy. Or like he'd rather have the car wash.

Posted: 7/29/14 at 4:08pmThat's what Sting looks like. He has spent decades practicing looking cool and it shows.

Posted: 7/29/14 at 5:14pmSting practices tantric sex that can last for hours, so I don't think four seconds of anything is going to make him happy...

I'm just putting this out there.
If Hedwig comes to London there's one person who I think would be awesome in the lead role. I saw him a couple of weeks ago in the guise of his country and western alter ego, Tina C - Christopher Green. I know he's not a name but, believe me, he would be amazing!

I've watched that interview twice, and maybe it's my wishful thinking, but I think it's a good possibility. JCM looks so lovely in the makeup. I think he's adorable.

"Well, that doesn't bode well for Hedwig's future."
All that happened is it moved from the rarified air of the Lion King/Wicked/Mormon stratosphere to the same level as every other show on Broadway...

I don't think having a discount is necessarily a sign that the show isn't doing well, Pippin has always had a discount code- even when the show was at it's hottest- Lots do. Those prices are the standard discount. Didn't Hedwig have a discount code of some sort early in NPH'S run?
