I just found out that the long delayed publication of Tony Kushner's 2009 play "The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures" has been completely cancelled. I'm not sure why the play is no longer getting published, but I assume that the publication rights were pulled by Kushner himself.
Can anybody sell me a copy? I will gladly pay for an electronic or hard copy of the script via PAYPAL. Please contact me directly at

Not Sold in Stores!
Why do you need it? If it's not been published, there's nothing legal you can do with it.

orangeskittles - Research? Academia? Personal collection? Just because he wants a copy doesn't mean he wants to illegally mount a production.
Really? How does one cite an unpublished, copyright infringed work forwarded via email in AP style for an academic work?
If he needed it for a reputable purpose, he could try getting in touch with Tony Kushner's agent instead of an anonymous post on message board like it was a bootleg trade.
No longer in print does not mean never published. Google Books has a record of a print run by Theatre Communications Group from February 2012 of the play. People have reviewed this print edition. It was pulled pretty quick judging by the lack of available copies online.
ALLOW ME TO CLARIFY- I am not a producer, director, or actor. I am simply interested in reading the play and having a copy for my personal collection.
Skittles: You know some people like to read plays for fun, right?

Is Target really the only place to buy this? I did a quick search and couldn't find it anywhere else.
Funny considering their homophobic history.

You might want to try people who reviewed the play or press agents who represented the theaters that have produced it--I have tons of old scripts on my hard drive from shows I reviewed for my blog.

The reviews on Google Books are from GoodReads, which are probably reviewed by people who only saw the play, not read it. Pretty sure it was never printed/available to the public.

Correct.

First of all, an academic paper wouldn't follow AP format; it would probably be MLA. AP format is for reporting, not academia.
But to answer your question, see the MLA Handbook, Sixth Edition, section 5.6.25.
Anything else?
DOesn't the Target site say it's coming out this January? Do we know for sure that's been canceled? Unless Kushner wants to do further revisions, it seems odd that a theatre based publisher wouldn't publish a play by one of the current better known playwrights...

It's been pulled from Amazon. If you look closer Target also says it was released in September
Release Date: September 11, 2012
Date Published: January 15, 2013
The whole thing is odd to me, it's been a long time now.

TCG is known for weird stuff like this, in regards to publishing scripts. They'll announce a date and then delay.
Unless Kushner wants to do further revisions
Which would be like the least surprising thing ever, and is a probable explanation.
