Gracias amigo for the clip. Great audience.
I hate this Benny. Seems like a terrible actor (althouh have yet to see him on tour) who sings well. This based on the clips I've seen on utube of him and this.
A fresh, vibrant, non-hoarse Lin is terrific in this. Not saying he wasn't on Broadway, but the last 2 times I saw him he seemed a bit tired of the show understandably. He's gonna kill the movie.
would Love to see a bootleg of the tour version if any of u got it.
That Vanessa sounds absolutely amazing. Wish she was on Broadway versus the mess that's there right now.
I agree, the Vanessa does sound amazing. The Daniela seems to fit the character, but she's no Andrea Burns, or even Bianca.
Overall seemed pretty good.
Beyond F*cking Amazing! That number never fails to get to me. It's one of the best ones in the show and that touring cast is on point. The girl playing "Vanessa" has a great voice and presence she should be doing it here in NYC. That "Benny" was pretty smooth in his delivery. Everyone did a great job...they "killed" it. Hope the exposure brings even more people to see this wonderful show.
Thanks for posting, loved it!
I saw it on TV last night and they did look great. But I was wondering why they chose this number (v. the opening number, ITH)? Is it due to the length of the song? Or it can showcase more characters?
Ohh, I just caught "Singing in the Lopez Show!" part, he he.

Since Lexi Lawson is replacing Sabrina Sloan as Vanessa, she really needs to come to New York, with Shaun Taylor-Corbett, and replace Marcy Harriell. Although I could be misjudging Marcy since I haven't seen the show.
Sabrina Sloan does indeed sound pretty fantastic.
She would be a terrific addition to the New York company, but she's leaving the show Sunday because she's five months pregnant, so I don't think we'll be seeing her for a while.

yup... Sabrina Sloan was AWESOME! i saw her in MIMI in Rent at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center and she was awesome in that and I saw her as Lorelle in Dreamgirls down here in San Diego... she needs to go to Broadway as Vanessa if she gets the chance... her performance as a whole was excellent... as for Rogelio Douglas Jr. as Benny... i was worried about him because of the clips I wasn't too impressed... but when i saw the show last Sunday I thought he was very good...
ITH is definitely well received here in the West Coast! Look at all the publicity that's happening.. from Flash Mob, to interviews with Lin on BWW, and even this! It almost feels like it's a brand new show and it's just opening. I loved it back in 2008 when I saw it 2x in NY, and I love it even now here in LA! I saw the show on opening night already and most likely I will be there for the last night as well. There are some changes in the show (not just the characters) which makes it refreshing!

oh what changes were made? the only lyrical change i heard was during EVERYTHING I KNOW when Nina was "you can tell it was the 90s from their hair"... instead of the 80s
There was a single, 7th row, dead center seat available for tonight's performance last night and I was about to snag it but I got distracted and when I got back online, it was gone. I intend to see it. Get paid on the 5th. *Sigh* Pay check to pay check.
I know nothing about this show but that number was pretty good.
eatlasagna - There were some subtle changes in the dialogue but I can't remember exactly since I don't have an actual libretto to compare it to. They seemed to have added more jokes which made it even more hilarious. The balcony scene is now on house right (stage left). Even Lin was funnier than before and definitely added more color to his character! He's just brilliant!
My Oh My - SEE IT!!!
Yes My Oh My go see it. It's definitely one of the best if not *the* best ORIGINAL musical of the new millenium.

I've seen the Broadway cast and the tour cast (in San Francisco). I thought it was great to see another crew, because they bring a little bit different perspective to the roles. Some things on the tour touched me in a way they hadn't before.
And I thought Rogelio Douglas was amazing as Benny. Different from Christopher Jackson, but I thought he was fantastic. His voice is absolutely gorgeous.
And Sabrina Sloan was totally fantastic. Amaaahzing.
I would very highly recommend seeing the tour.
Anyone else notice the glare Lin shot when Rogelio did that riff?

I think they did a great job. I love this number. It's so high energy and fun. I've seen the show in NYC and on tour. Both casts were terrific.

a little off topic... but i kinda would love to hear this show translated into another language... it'd be interesting to hear it sung in German or Japanese!
Got me a 3rd row, dead center seat for Tuesday night. Looking forward to it.
I know Lopez Tonight sells themselves on being a constant party so the audience might always have that energy but I know during this the crowd to be eating up the performance and seemed to be enjoying it.
I saw the tour back in April when it was here. I didn't like the score going in, with the exception of the song "96,000 which I love, but after seeing the show I was won over.
Yes Sabrina Sloan was wonderful but so was Arielle Jacobs as Nina. And I thought Natalie Toro as Camila also made her mark. She got maximum mileage out of 'Enough".
I think the LA cast will be on So You Think You Can Dance this coming Thursday, July 8.
