Emily Blunt is the Baker's Wife; Christine Baranski also in. That's two from the reading cast so far.

Love the news about Emily Blunt. Really smart performer, love her onscreen. One quibble: does anyone else think she's way too beautiful to be struck dumb by the Prince's kiss in "Moments in the Woods"?

Also, potential uh-oh: "Sources also tell THR that reports that the Tony-winner James Corden has closed a deal to play the Baker are premature."

I've never heard Emily Blunt sing, so I was really pissed for a hot second. Then I took a breath and went to youtube and found this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLsIs8dVyK8
Now I'm happy. Oh, I'm so very very happy.
I was just about to post that same link, Jordan.
She will be fabulous in the role.
Christine would be perfect as Cinderella's stepmother.

I'm happy. I hadn't even thought of Emily, but thinking about it now, I think she'll be brilliant. Had no idea she had such a lovely voice either.
Obviously that clip doesnt show much of her range, but my first thought was that she could be an excellent Evita one day.
I love Emily Blunt. This movie just keeps getting better.
That's an exciting development! I'm looking forward to hearing her and James sing their parts with British accents, as well.
They really seem to be going to great lengths to make sure these roles are well cast. I'm very pleasantly surprised by every choice so far, which is rare.
I guess, after Nine, Rob wants to make sure he doesn't just cast celebrities for the sake of casting celebrities.
Oooh, I'm happy! And at least the accents will match with the Baker and His Wife.

I love Emily Blunt. She'd be perfect as the Baker's Wife.
I'm sure she tested with James Corden, and they seem like a great fit together (in theory).
I'm happy for Baranski, too! Streep and Baranski in another movie musical. (I'm sure the PR will note that.) And she'll be great as the Stepmother.
She had never occurred to me for this role, but now that it's mentioned, she's perfect.
While I'm happy for Baranski, I really was hoping that part would go to Bernadette.
I still want Bernadette for Granny or Cinderella's Mother's Ghost.
Bernadette for Cinderella's mother. Joanna Gleason as Granny. Chip Zien as Mysterious Man.
Sadly, Bernadette looks too old to play the mother of a young teen.
I still want either Bernadette or Joanna Gleason to make a cameo.
