IMDb.com still has an approval system. Anyone can submit credits, but it all has to get approved first before it goes up on their site. It's not quite as "Wiki" as you think.
(And Wikipedia would the last place I would look for confirmation.)
Actually, everywhere else I look says Gyllenhaal is Cinderella's Prince.
The Reporter article you refer to is the only one that says otherwise.
I guess we'll see. All of the original articles announcing their casting across the board did not differentiate who would play which role, though one would assume Gyllenhaal would be Cinderella's Prince because he's the bigger star and it's the bigger part. The Hollywood Reporter piece was the first time I'd seen a distinction made.
Then you need to Google around. I'm not posting all those links.
He's listed in quite a few places as Cinderella's Prince.

The Hollywood Reporter was actually at first the only source that was correct about Depp playing the Wolf while Variety thought he was going to be the Baker.
Don't hurt me because I know some of y'alls opinions about her but I am neutral... but what if they were to cast Amanda Seyfried as Rapunzel? I can picture her with Chris Pine as her prince despite being Cinderella's Prince, though. IDK... the idea occurred to me yesterday.

I wouldn't be shocked if they did that.
I wonder if her Veronica Mars appearances in the film will be infrequent enough to avoid schedule conflicts.

Imdb has Gyllenhaal as Cinderella's Prince. They also have Corden listed but strangely no role.

jacob, I would love if they were in a romantic drama together, but not this

IMdB is frequently littered with misinformation this early in the game for any movie. We can probably hold of on citing anything they say until after shooting is complete.
Taz, when I click on that link, it has the role of "The Baker" listed next to Corden's name. Do you not see that?
(I happen to be logged in there now, so maybe that's the reason.)
IMDb.com is not a news source. They do reflect what other "reputable sources" are saying, and it's not a Wikipedia free-for-all either. But if the "reputable source" is wrong, then so is the info in IMDb.com.
But I would never use IMDb.com as a news source itself. It doesn't "announce" things or "scoop" things. It merely means that other "reputable sources" have this information, so it is allowed on their site.
But again, regular site visitors can't see if the role is listed as "rumored," "in negotiations" or "confirmed" unless you have a Pro account.

People stop freaking out about this. I am sure we will know for sure in a few weeks.

sweetie, no one is freaking out. This is a discussion. So far, the only one to freak out around here has been you.

You had a hissyfit and gave yourself a headache over the prospect of Rapunzel's death being cut.
But you don't read the entirety of the threads you post on, so you probably didn't know you did that.

I hope Pine is Cinderella's Prince since Gyllenhaal and Kendrick have already played opposite each other.

I love Pine but I really can't see Gyllenhaal as a prince...

Yeah Pine looks like a prince and Jake looks like his sidekick.

On paper I want Gyllenhaal as Cinderella's Prince. He has amazing chemistry with Kendrick, it's the bigger part, he can easily find the humor. But I can't seem to be able to picture him pulling off the smarmy but charming cheater in act two with the Baker's Wife. I can only see him coming off like a douche. Pine, however, has that cocky arrogance to make it funny opposite Blunt.
Though honestly, it's great either way.
So you're posting gif's now? Don't you say people who did that (and I'm paraphrasing) are idiots incapable of expressing actual thoughts?
