I love Pine but I really can't see Gyllenhaal as a prince...
He was a fine-ass Prince of Persia
nasty, have you seen Love and Other Drugs? I think he can bring the smarmy without the douchey.
Yeah, but that's a very different type of prince. I have no doubt he'll be great, I just think Pine is better suited for Cinderella's prince, looks wise.

Gyllenhaal is hotter than any prince.
Even hotter than Prince Carl-Philip of Sweden, the hottest prince currently living.

Can I ask how much time you spend trying to find the gift that you think is the perfect zinger? Do you think that will increase the current antisocial tendencies you already display?
Seriously child, just a few days ago you went off on people using gifs saying they're incapable of coming up with anything to say. Now it's all you do.

His behavior is rapidly becoming identical to a certain other poster who plagued the forum earlier in the year, don't you think?
Minus the political bent. For now.

"I actually don't like the idea of the whole cast using British accents. This isn't Harry Potter or Mary Poppins.
Also, Into the Woods, was written by two American musical theatre writers, and the writing has a distinctive American flavor (and humor) to it.
My feeling is that too many Brits spoil the broth, in this case."
Actually best12bars, I have both the Original Broadway Cast performance and the 2010 Open Air Theatre production on Digital Theatre and I don't mind the British accents from the latter when I watch it.

I know, it's like listening to Shakespeare with American accents
Dreadful :)

A stage direction from the opening number:
"Cinderella's stepmother is dressed in a robe, her blonde hair rolled in rags, and she carries herself with an air of disgust, like a medieval Orange County housewife."
I am so excited.
well if you want accurate accents shouldn't Jack and his mother be British, Cinderella and Little Red be French, and Rapunzel be German? At least based on their origin texts. I Guess the Baker and his wife should be the only american accents as they were invented by Sondheim and Lapine.
I don't care what accent the cast has, as long as they can sing the parts well.
The Baker and his Wife are only quasi-original, as they are immediate offshoots of the Rapunzel story.
I don't want accurate accents at all, whatever that means in this case. This is a fairy tale.
I want ACCESSIBLE accents for an American musical theatre piece that's being turned into a huge movie by Disney. So I want mixed accents. I don't want broad unintelligible Cockney accents, just like I don't want broad Brooklyn accents or huge Southern twangs.
If you don't feel that way, that's your opinion. This is mine.

A little bit of history on the previous attempts at the film
Earlier attempts at turning this show into a movie musical wound up in the weeds
