"You live pretty sad lives if you get your kicks claiming dominance over a Broadway message board. You don't have any more right than somebody who joined up yesterday so grow up."
"But when you jump over people with your "holier than thou" attitude it is just pathetic. You drive away people who may want to join in the discussion because they might be new or they didn't ask the right questions. You think you are special because you are in to the arts and you "get it", but some of you are just judgmental losers who want to feel better about themselves by kicking somebody else. Go ahead and enjoy the only world where you can be a "star", back here in the real world people have deserve respect."
What? Lighten up. I simply questioned your familiarity with BWW because people tend to respond this way when the topic has been discussed to death or when it is over a sensitive issue, such as someone being fired from a show.
Your responses are just as rude, and you are acting the way you claim everyone else is acting. The original poster didn't even respond to anyone, and you are just creating a problem over nothing. If the original poster has a problem, leave it up to them to say something. If they don't, who cares? You said so yourself that the original poster doesn't press over the issue.

I'm really sorry everyone.. I didn't mean to start any problems.. I LOVE West Side Story -- particularly this production, and I was just wondering if there was any official word on why he'd left.. But I didn't join the boards to cause trouble or anything.. I just joined yesterday because I have a great appreciation for musical theatre and I was hoping to join a forum with people who have the same appreciation/passion.. I am honestly sorry if I caused any trouble!
And again, I LOVE this show, I bought a full price ticket to see it the first time and it was EXCELLENT! I was completely blown away! The music, the singing, the acting, the orchestra -- everything! I decided had to go back to see it again right away! And then I found out about the lottery and tried every day with a few exceptions until I finally got it! I Had an awesome time, but I realize now it was one of Cody's last performances so I was extremely bummed to hear that he left.. I thought His dances with Pamela Otterson who plays Graziella (his girlfriend) were great. They were so much fun to watch together! And Josephina and Matt had such great chemistry! Josephina's understudy was on the second time I saw the show but she was also amazing! And of course Karen gave a breathtaking and chilling performance! And the ensemble was great! If there was any official announcement, you would have seen it in the form of a press release or some news article on BWW, Playbill, TheaterMania, etc. Typically, they don't release press releases on people being fired, especially for a supporting role played by a relatively unknown person.
It's good to see you like the show so much. I have heard mediocre things about the production.

NotScott: Welcome to junior high school....ooops, I mean BWW. Keep on posting to your heart's content. People (well, some people) are ever so eager to criticize. Go ahead and post what you wish. Good luck to you... RC in Austin, Texas...
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
It was a legitimate question, Timothy, with two parts, which seems to have been lost. No, there is no official word yet, probably never will be. As to whether or not he's in anything yet, I heard rumors he was doing a workshop of a new musical even while doing WSS, but I haven't heard exactly which one. If I find out, I'll come back and let you know. Of course, he's Canadian, so he might have headed back to Canada after this if he has no work here in the city.
Well, it's not really a "rumor" anymore...just a known fact...Cody was fired. I have a few friends in the show. He was a great dancer, but that was about it.
