ZZzzzzzzzz
You guys. This casting. I can't get over it. It's stupendous.
SO glad I worked so hard to get these tickets. Became a member, was on their silly "queue-it" line, and when my number came up, there was an error, and I was pushed back to the end of the line! I was on the phone to the member office immediately, and though no one answered, left an impassioned message about what happened. Amazingly, they called back in three minutes, and offered me any tickets I wanted for the extension! As I am leaving NYC on the 26th, this worked out perfectly. Halle-f**king-lujah!
I have never in my life felt so wise in a decision to buy a ticket for something way in advance. At this point, Jake Gyllenhaal is about seventh most exciting in this cast for me.
What an incredible, incredible- and surprising!- cast.
Wow this is going to be amazing! I can't wait for the 24th!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

Is the entire run sold out? The city centers website wasn't bringing up any tickets for me. Though the broadwaycom release said they added a matinee and I didn't see that on the site either?
I guess they did add a performance!
Special matinee performance just added on Oct 26! Tickets for the 2pm matinee performance will go on exclusive presale to City Center Members on Wed, Oct 5 at noon. To learn more about becoming a Member, click here. Remaining tickets for the added performance will go on sale to the general public on Thu, Oct 6 at noon.

Holy crap! What a cast. Rashad is an unexpected but wonderful choice.

I cannot wait! This is tremendously creative casting for this production and it looks like it's really going to be something special! I'm practically peeing my pants; I'm so glad we're seeing this. City Center is going gung-ho on this; Terrific!

Kinda wish Ruthie Ann Miles was playing Yvonne, but that's a tiny complaint in what really is a cast of luminaries. Good for City Center for actually committing to diversity and showing that 1776 wasn't a fluke. Roundabout, ball's in your court.
Zachary Levi is going to NAIL Jules. I'm undecided about going, I am selling my ticket on StubHub (shameless plug) but if it doesn't sell, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and make the trip to the city. It's bound to be a great evening of theatre. The act finales are already emotional, but I can't imagine what a crying mess I'll be seeing this particular cast singing "Sunday" and doing that bow in front of Georges at the end that always kills me.
Claybourne Elder performed Georges quite ably at Signature Theater a couple years ago. I bet he was brought on as Soldier partly to be a standby for Gyllenhaal. The Soldier was also Georges's understudy (Santino Fontana for Daniel Evans) in the 2008 revival.

Honestly, same.

I don't think I've ever heard of a concert production having a "standby."

Gabby Pizzolo - this girl is becoming unstoppable. One project right after the next. Good for her to join such an amazing cast.
Take this to Broadway like NOW.
I'm hopeful with you, Valentina. I'm praying this thing is unbelievable enough that it has to ride a wave.
WOW! That does it for me--I'm taking my tickets OFF StubHub.
This would never move to Broadway with this cast. Those are some big names for some very small roles.

No, they never played opposite each other, but I believe Carmen was Elphaba while Annaleigh was rehearsing to go into the Chicago company. They did know each other. Here Annaleigh is with Carmen, Christine Ebersole, and Ann Hampton Calloway. Also, guys...do you think there's ANY CHANCE of this getting a cast recording? This cast is too good to miss an opportunity to capture it forever. Gosh, I'm so excited.
Who is actually directing this concert? I don't see it listed.
