Again, no one defended those comments you're harping about. And yes, they are racist.
But- as I said in my post (in the Special Edition Director's Cut of this thread)- you are exactly typifying the articles blactor posted.
You are dismissing claims of racism because YOU don't think something is racist. Instead of trying to understand WHY people might think making the first black main character of a Disney animated film a maid is problematic, you immediately have dismissed the concerns as flat-out wrong. You therefore dismiss the people with the concerns, too. THEY are the ones that need to change. Not you. Not the culture. Them.

Jordan: silly screencap
Ray: stupidity displayed by some (aka David19)
larrystyles: david19 is probably one of those white people who gets angry that there isn't a white history month or a white entertainment channel"
Ah, so the answer is that no one espoused the views you attributed to them.

No Kad, the fact that Tiana's love interest is not black is by no means racist. Not because I think so.
It only shows that loving other people rises above race.
Just like the love story in the latest Annie remake shows that.
Or can white characters choose any race, but black characters can only choose other black people? Now THAT vision is racist.

I thought you objected to the fact that she wasn't a maid.
What are you even talking about? I was clearly- VERY clearly, in fact, since I cite the topic YOU brought up- referring to your earlier post in which you said:
"I remember when the Princess and the frog came out, and hell broke loose because Tiana was going to be a "maid". So after a lot of fuss, the Disney company decided to change the script and make her a hard working woman/princess. I feel the complaints are completely ungrounded, and that the problem is inside some people's head's and that's what needs to be fixed. Not the film.
The biggest part of these micro-aggressions are created by the receiver itself, and that's where the problem lies."
No one is saying anything even remotely like that black people should only date within their race. Only you, in your flailing attempt to gain ground in an argument in which you increasingly are losing it.

It's the same thing, black characters can only have black love interests, black characters can only have certain (good) jobs in films, I won't have any of that. It's racist.
None of us have said we'll have any of it, either.
I'm honestly not sure why this is even continuing. Dave has no valid points and he just keeps spouting nonsense. It doesn't need to be addressed. So I think everyone should just stop responding.

Jordan, Ray, and Larrystyles seem to disagree though, according to their reactions.
Edit: Oh, and Clyde: "Dave has no valid points"
Well, I'm glad those attacks on Disney are valid in your eyes. Have a nice life.

I personally don't mind that in the last TV version, a white Daddy Warbucks gets the black girl. However, you have to look at the time period when the show was set. Something like that happening without it being much of an issue, especially for someone of Daddy Warbuck's stature would have been unheard of.
You are one of the most patently ridiculous and delusional people on this board. And that's saying a lot.

Kad, why do you disagree about the Tiana's partner subject?
Or do you agree?
I second Kad

Clyde, when you're right you're right.
I'm done.
Thanks for the well wishes, Dave. Love and light.

Me neither. In fact, I loved it!
But the other way around brings out the worst in people, as you can read in some reactions on this board!
I have my hopes up for the future, that people will be older and wiser.

I agree with Dave19! If it weren't for black folks there wouldn't be racism in the first place. They are the perpetrators. Slavery was almost a hundred years ago and they still need their reparations with the Negro College Fund and with Black Annie. GET OVER IT! GOD!

I do wonder if a black Annie (which I would love) could actually be a maid in the film? Or would people start hyperventilating again because of the history?
Well, I'm done, and I want to leave you with this entertaining youtube tirade, of a confused man who sees the fact that the prince is not black as an attack on black males. Long live the love!

Unlike Dave, at least Jim Colyer, WS has the balls to come out and actually admit he's a racist.

Dave19 is right! If there are more black people than white people, it's racist! Racist! That's why they will never release the Wilson Mandela movie. They realized that there weren't enough white people in it and that it was racist like this Annie movie.
Thank you Dave19 for all your hard work. And than you BWW for deleting lots of new posters, but leaving the blatantly racist posts from previous posters up for all to see. Racism is okay when it comes from Bettyboy and Dave19 but poor Hot Pepper!!!! must lay in dustbin of history.

Jordan, I think Tiana has the right to marry whoever she wants! No matter what the black community or you say about it!
