that was a whole different discussion Wybish, and you know that.... that was when ALLTHATJAZZ was being unfairly attacked as being racist which was ridiculous. I am not involved with this DAVE Matter.
True or False?
Kad, did you call someone a "cracker"
You call people "bullies", and then wanted to be left out of it? You shouldn't have gotten in it, then.
but i didnt!!!!
that was a different conversation. i have had nothing to say about this DAVE conversation.

Every thread exists in a vacuum, Wynbish, don't you know that?
It's still referring to the same people just a few pages back. The slate doesn't wipe clean with each new page or each new conversation within a thread.

My favorite is when it has nuts. Maybe I just like to put nuts on crackers.
I draw the line at nuts on my cheese, Clyde.
Ha, Reg! This thread is great.

I only have one nut, so I find the use of the plural hurtful!
It wasn't offensive. You're wrong and your feelings are wrong.
So, Phyllis, you're saying people with two are racist?
One nut
Don't expect there to be an Annie with just one nut.

Well, I do have one more nut than Annie, so that's a consolation.
Reg, of course they are racist. And because they are racist I'm going to have to make racist jokes to show that THEY are the racists!
actually Wybish, i have been consistant. Jazz was being bullied. so i came to her defense.
So ANNIE is a Mounds? Or an Almond Joy?
And do the politics get sticky when it's black on the outside and white on the inside?
Just out of curiosity, can someone direct me to where All That Jazz was bullied?
And not a paraphrase, please; cut and paste.
Why don't Mounds and Almond Joys come in white chocolate? Now THAT is racist.
Also I think we should all take a page from the Real Housewives of OC before we start bandying about this "bully" term.
Allthatjazz
Ray, I'm thrilled they're making this film and I'm all for Annie being black, just as I was when Disney made The Princess and the frog. I want to make clear that I'm not a racist person, at all. I'd never call this production cheap or ghetto, I agree that we should have more iconic black characters for children to look up to and not just black, but of every race.
The jokes on this thread are not any worse than the ones made by African Americans themselves in stand-up comedy, just as white comedians make jokes about being too white and not being hip enough. A respectful, open-minded person is able to laugh at both.

"I'm not a racist person, at all but I use "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" to defend racist comments."
So one person's rather mild disagreement is bullying?
there were others Reggie, theyve been deleted

Wait, what? My comment was in response to the fact that All That Jazz posted the lyrics to "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" as though that song suddenly makes everything okay.

Our society is rooted on stereotypes, every time you're talking about a race be it white, or black or any other, jokes will surface. Whether or not is right to do it is one thing, but...
Everyone's a little bit racist
Okay!
Ethinic jokes might be uncouth,
But you laugh because
They're based on truth.
Don't take them as
Personal attacks.
Everyone enjoys them -
So relax!
The real problem arrives when you try to turn a light and humorous discussion into a serious social statement, which is not, IMO. Like I said before, I'm very excited for this film and I'm happy they're updating it since we already have two more film adaptations of the same beloved musical.
Honestly, the only post here which I found to be demeaning and terribly racist was KKKatie's.
