I have no doubt they will find a way to make it happen here.
Did no one see Sunset's Plan B? They'll stick it on the roof of the theater instead. Problem solved.

In theory this would avoid vehicular traffic issues, but would still be disruptivefor whatever is playing at the Booth. Especially with the echo that would come from Minskoff tower.
Jamie has his work cut out for him. This may not really be possible unless they take the loss and somehow get the Kerr (only nearby theatre is the Longacre, and it’s one plot westward so sound may not matter as much) or if theMajestic is somehowempty and the use the St James.
If both the James and Majestic were owned by the same people, maybe they could have ensured that the Majestic stay dark for 6 or 9 months so there’s no risk of interrupting another show."
Surely you can't think that one of the theatre owners would let one of the most prime musical houses sit empty for 6-9 months??

I mean, the intention of that number was never for the outside audience to participate. They were a hindrance more than anything. For Evita, they literally want to bring in an outside audience and the audience needs to be able to see and hear them. So yes, they could just put her on the roof but at that point, you could just pust her on the stage. Or put her in one of the Boxes and play it on the stage.
5 stars from The Independent
I didn't realize Jamie Lloyd was the AD on the Ricky Martin production!

Very insightfully written. It really makes it sound like Lloyd is just painting by numbers, a la Sunset.

There are plenty of very positive reviews, but yes. Make sure to only endorse the one review that advances your narrative, particularly since you haven’t seen the production.

I think they should have her perform it from the stage, but they should project it on screens all across Times Square (or at least on a few major ones). And then the audience would be literally everyone in Times Square, and they could project footage of the audience into the theater, which would look pretty incredible.

Im sure they're gonna make money but I don't think theyre gonna have 5 minutes on premium Times Square Ad Space every single night money...

Re: the Times Square screen suggestion - audio would be impossible, plus attention spans in that area are the lowest. People know they’re ads and so they maybe glance up but don’t watch for extended periods. And as TheatreFan4 has mentioned, it wouldn’t work financially.

I'm just the "ideas guy"!
I was there last night: the outside audience was well over a thousand people. I can’t express how awesome the experience is seeing those crowds from the audience inside: it’s such a reveal. A coup de théâtre moment that’s so much more effective than the often cited Sunset Blvd comparison.
Will try to post a video I took during intermission yesterday before the barriers were put down. Simply wow.

Interesting to see Lloyd and Rice on board seemingly confirming it’s Webber and his team with Jellicle Ball.
I understand his rationale but I don’t remember Sunset breaking through to this degree (even though it was a hit) and there is something to be said for striking while the iron is hot.
Lloyd has also been scouting theaters.
If this doesn’t announce their opening date at the St. James by Christmas Day, we may as well all give up.
What a plentiful season for musical revivals this is turning out to be.

I thought audio was possible - didn't Streisand project Somewhere in 1994 on her last night in NY?
Rachel Zegler is far more in the zeitgeist than Nicole Scherzinger, and Evita is far and away more well-known and respected than Sunset. Combine that with Jamie Lloyd’s superstar status in the theatre world and it’s not at all surprising this is more of a smash than Sunset.
I’d love to see this transfer sooner than later. If Cats is just going to sit on its hands and not announce, then they deserve to be in competition with another ALW juggernaut.

The Music Box has a more suitable balcony and more seats than the Kerr
