He has 4 million Insta followers but I don't think any of that translates to sales for him."
It does not.

Are the producers aware of his TERRIBLE attendance record?
I highly doubt Reeve was forced out of the show just to be replaced by Fisher.
His attendance and his voice are both unreliable. His voice was gone when I saw Sweeney. It was shortly before he bowed out. Not sure why he is being hired. Hadestown is a heavy lift vocally for all of the cast.
I wish his understudies all the best. They will be kept on their toes.
So I guess an understudy will be on for the 11/20 show?

11/20 is a Monday, no performance that day
He was the weakest link in Sweeney and just don't see him handling the role vocally. He tortured Johanna and now Hadestown? No ty

There is a performance that day. Look at their schedule.

Check yourself. That’s Thanksgiving week, there IS a Monday performance.

I think perhaps he was miscast in Sweeney, but may be just right for Hadestown. He is a great singer and performer has more of a pop contemporary musical theatre voice rather than legit traditional as Anthony has been sung. I think he may be great in this show!!!

I don’t think Reeves would be forced out in general. There are contracts and such. Maybe they opted to not renew however. Or however that works.

Oops my bad. Was spacing out that that’s Thanksgiving week and the schedule is different.
So given that, yes I’d assume one of the understudies.
I guess it’s official. I see his post and the official Hadestown post on IG. Too bad it’s not Nicholas Barasch.

I'll be curious to see what, if any, impact Jordan has on the show's grosses.
As a sidenote, Jordan was recently announced to be narrating the Disney World Candlelight Processional at EPCOT from December 21-23, so if anyone is itching to see an Orpheus understudy, those dates are probably solid.
I'm a dissenter here about Carney, whose vocals I found stirring and soulful. Just listened to "Wait for Me" on a playlist last night and remembered how touching his plangent rendition was in the Kerr in early August. I saw Fisher his last week in Sweeney, and his light pop instrument, though probably competent amid lesser voices in a different company, just barely served with the current cast. I can't imagine the first act of Hadestown's crescendo working without a vocal performance like Carney's. Whatever anyone thinks of his work, he nails the music. And to me, the show is all music.

Lempicka is going to the Longacre. The ink is dry on that lease and has been.
The Kerr too will be vacant for a March previews start of a new show. That much is becoming more clear. Especially with this news…
I also was really, really hoping for Barasch but I understand the marketing point of view.

I think Jordan is more well known?
I'm not a fan of him either.

Did Jordan have attendance issues in Sweeney Todd?
A brief, fully out of context sample of Fisher singing "Wait for Me" from the #WaitForMeChallenge from a few years ago:

I can’t recall how often, but I know I saw on @BroadwayCovers that Nathan Salstone was on for Anthony rather frequently, and then Fisher dipped out a week after the Tony’s
To me, Barasch made it work on tour. He had the young ethereal thing with his vocals and looks where as Reeves, to me, came across more “touched.” Which could work if that’s the choice you want to make.
I just think it seems odd for Fisher to leave a huge sell out revival to replace in a long running show? You’d think his contract was for the same time as Groban and company.
Looking at his tweet and his replies i'm assuming he' gonna at least... try? to be in the show as much as he can and longer than DEH and Sweeney Todd.
I see now that he’s supposed to start 11/20
