I know many of us create a big dysfunctional family of sorts. I just wanted to say thank you. In generalities and specifics.

The insight and knowledge so many of you share here is terrific. I know I've taken chances on shows I might not otherwise have viewed. I'm fairly certain that Stereophonic nor Illinoise, for example, would not have been on my radar...and now, they are greatly anticipated on upcoming trips.

Additionally, I've gotten so many tips for restaurants and hotels. This week we dined at Dim Sum Palace for the first time... Gah, crazy good.

You've enhanced my theatrical outlook and expanded my NY experiences.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I wish to echo these sentiments. I find these threads very informative and they have also helped shape my theater-going choices. Despite 50 years of having attended theater in New York starting at age 15, I wonder how I survived all those years without the insights of my fellow theater-lovers. I try not to engage in too many discussions because of the ensuing drama that often occurs (although I admit some comments are more entertaining than what I’ve seen on stage), many times to avoid ageist remarks, but overall, I enjoy most discussions. There are some regular contributors whose comments I really enjoy reading and find valuable (Jordan, Kad, Hogan, to name a few). Thank you, Taffy, for posting discount codes before I receive them elsewhere, which have allowed me to jump on the best possible seats. Thank you, dramamama, for starting this thread.

It's great that there are SO MANY SHOWS to talk about.

But then someone started a thread the other day about HOW do they assign dressing rooms - and my first thought was NOT TODAY.

But I dove into the dressing room post anyway, right away. It's fascinating to learn about the tub installed for Elizabeth Taylor.

I always enjoy chatting with you all, getting advice, and just sharing our thoughts on shows.

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

I’ll echo in sharing my gratitude to all the BroadwayWorld posters whose early-preview recommendations led me to some of the greatest theatrical experiences in my time in New York City.

I’m a multi-decade (!) lurker, sometimes poster, and I’m ever grateful for the recommendations, the musings, the humor and the distraction. 🙏

Great to see some positivity here! Your name is totally one of the ones recognize, and your takes are always great from what I remember.

This board is really brilliant for moving shows onto my radar (or the opposite, but..) when they deserve the recognition! One of these days it would be so fun to have a swap meet or mass gathering of some kind. A group show viewing? In the end we are all here to share our love of Broadway, and this is the one site where the opinions feel "real" and not just like people shouting into a void or judging harshly.

Re stereophonic, totally agree. That $40 first preview worked miracles for WOM, and it was a great show!! Get it on your radar everybody!

I make it down to NYC from Atlanta Canada, once a year, so I rely on these boards to inform my choices.

I'm set to see, this coming week: Cabaret, The Great Gatsby, Tommy, Back to the Future, and The Notebook.

I have restaurants booked, museums and attractions of interest noted, etc.

This is the type of message that usually gets shared when an online community goes down. Far better to do it for no particular reason whatsoever, while things are still merrily rolling along :)

I definitely value this community too, and read everyone's reviews and thoughts on a regular basis to keep abreast of what's happening. It can be tough to find people who care about theatre or musical theatre, so everyone's passion is appreciated.

Thank you dramamama for starting this post, as I’d like to echo the same sentiments. I’ve been an avid reader of the board & just recently started adding some of my thoughts. I appreciate the discussions, reviews, seating advice, discounts, rush, lotto & TDF reports. I’m headed to NYC midweek, have 8 shows planned & am keeping an open mind about a few of them…..

Stereophonic, Uncle Vanya, Hell’s Kitchen, Suffs, (both seen at the Public) Mary Jane, Lempicka, An Enemy of the People and Mother Play. I’ll try to catch a few more when I’m back in July, and based on the reviews here, really hoping Heart of Rock & Roll can hang on till then!
