Karen Olivo leaving In the Heights?

Is it true that Karen will be leaving In the Heights to do the West Side Story revival? I read the rumor on the boards and don't know if it's true. I would like to see her once more in In the Heights before she leaves. Does anyone know when she is leaving?

I like the show. I don't LOVE it like for example as much as I love rent but I do like the show.

i don't think anyone knows for sure, which is probably what is frustrating a lot of folks, and won't know until the official casting announcement is made. i'm new to all this, but i'm guessing it will be at least another week before anything official. not basing that on anything other than the declaration "casting will be announced shortly" was made when it was announced that WSS would be taking tha palace on 9/28, and it's been nearly a month since then, and they just used that announcement again when tix were officially declared on sale.

Coolkid, you have commented many times before about the cast's last shows and you want tickets. Well other people who actually like the show have gotten very mad at you because you could potentially prevent them from getting tickets because you got them. Why don't you leave those tickets to real fans. Stop posting here and leave tickets for people who really want them.

You know, its such obvious casting I'm not sure if the rumor is true or so likely it OUGHT to be true. But, in theatre, when things are obvious...it generally doesn't generally work out that way...

if it is a rumor on another thread...why would you think someone here is "holding out" on giving you information.

And if they were: do you REALLY think they'd say, "Oh, COOLKID wants to know...I'll tell him the truth."?

Until there is an official release everything is a rumor.

We all want to know the casting of WSS, but not because we need to snag tix to another "last performance" show.

i actually feel bad for coolkid, after seeing him at the Flea Market and connecting that to his behavior here, it's pretty clear he has a psychological disorder in the autism spectrum.

My mom's friend's son's girlfriend was in final callbacks for the role of Anita. She was told that it would be her part to lose.

how did u all know it was coolkid at the fleamarket / final rent perf.? everyone seemed to know that it was him right away.
