I loved Karen, but if Krysta gets bumped I will be SO happy. I'm sad to see Karen go to WSS, but it's only because I don't like it

I just ordered tickets to see In The Heights this December particularly to see Karen and Lin. I wish I knew before I ordered tickets that she was leaving today. I was lucky enough to see the entire cast except for Christopher Jackson last September. I am really disappointed I won't be seeing Karen as Vanessa again.

Lin ISN'T writing any music for WEST SIDE STORY. The score was completed 51 years ago. He is translating Sondheim's lyrics for 3-5 songs. And he won't be in the show.

wait... i thought that krysta wasn't cast in west side story because they were only using kids under the age of 18... and karen is definitely over 18.

Christopher Jackson was out and Rogelio Douglas Jr. went on as Benny when I saw the show in September. Rogelio was fantastic.

Nope....they wouldn't have had enough time to audition. At least for now the understudies will cover. Would be nice if one of them (krysta, krysta, or krysta) gets bumped up!

I saw Krysta as Vanessa. She wasn't on Karen's level, but definitely great. She just seemed a little uncomfortable in the part.

I really wish Karen had gotten a Tony nom, or at least Andrea.

Has anyone seen Krysta as both Vanessa and (obviously on another occasion) Nina? If so, care to compare? Because I originally saw In The Heights with her as Nina and she was just outstanding. When I went again in July I even told her at the stagedoor that she's my favorite understudy of all time and told her how amazing she is. So I really hope she does get bumped up for that alone, but I'm interested to hear anyone compare since (at least vocally) they are such different roles.

I've seen Krysta as Nina and Vanessa and I much preferred her Nina. She looks age appropriate, has a lovely voice (if a bit quiet) but her acting broke my heart. Especially during Alabanza.
It was odd to see her with Chris Jackson since he's like twice as big as her and I thought he would break her... it also makes him look a bit pedo-ish.

As Vanessa she's cute which is fine, but it's a very different (less sexual) version of Vanessa. She's very cute with Lin though.

nina and vanessa are supposed to be about the same age.
i haven't seen her nina, hopefully i will get a chance to.
I liked her vanessa, her champagne was phenomenal.

No, but I'm a fan of hers in general. Besides, I always root for understudies to get bumped! It doesn't happen often, but I'm always thrilled when it does!
