Confirmed...
Rodriguez and Levi to lead FIRST DATE
Oooo what HUGE stars. This should last at least a week now.
Zachary Levi is a fairly popular TV star - isn't he?
Very surpised at the cast changes, I wonder how the originals feel about this?
I would say he's marginally popular. CHUCK was only a cult hit that lasted on NBC so long because they didn't have much else going on during those years.
Krysta was on SMASH and we know how well that did.
Wasn't Megan Hilty involved in readings or out of town at some point?
Mmm Hmmm. There goes Krysta stealing people's parts again. Look what happened to Erin Dilly...
She's STILL on a break!
Zachary Levi, talented though he is, certainly isn't enough of a name to really fill seats for this thing.

Ok now I am .1% excited to see this. I really like Krysta and Zachary! Still won't last a week after opening.
As much as I love this, I still probably will never see this show. Maybe they should have tried to get Mandy for a reunion.

I adore Krysta. I think she is the most underrated performer on Broadway. I was lucky enough to see her in Spring Awakening, A Chorus Line, In the Heights, and Addam's Family.

I must be out of the loop. Do shows actually open in the summer?

(I love Krysta!!)
OK. Now I feel slightly less ashamed in admitting I bought tickets for this when they went on sale several weeks ago.

Thanks to the Vulture.com SMASH updates, she'll always be "Midriff" to me.
Being a fan of Krysta, I'm excited for this, and hope it can succeed.
Sure, it seems unlikely but I wouldn't have thought that Veronica Mars fans would be able to raise almost 6 million dollars to finance their movie so I don't want to underestimate cult fanbases
And Krysta is the first to return after Smash. Love her, but this isn't gonna go well.
The Seattle cast has been Dilly-ed by Krysta et al.
Full circle.

You're talking about a television show raising money to make a movie of said TV show. It's not like people who watched CHUCK are just clamoring to see whatever Zachary Levi is in after that especially if it's a musical and not some nerdy cult show. These things are in no way similar.
This thing is gonna flop like a fish out of water.

I have to say, as a Chuck fan, this absolutely makes me want to see it. It wasn't remotely on my radar before...but that's just me.
What the f#$@ is this show about? Are they purposely trying to keep details away from the public?
jax, when are you going to the show?
Bettyboy72, it's described in a fair amount of detail on BroadwayWorld.com:
"When tightly wound Aaron (Zachary Levi) is set up with serial-dater Casey (Krysta Rodriguez) a quick drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious, high-stakes dinner. As the date unfolds in real time, the couple quickly finds they are not alone on this date as Casey and Aaron's inner critics take on a life of their own when other restaurant patrons and the wait staff get into the act. Dinner is served with sides of Google background checks, fake emergency phone calls, supportive best friends, manipulative exes and protective parents, who sing and dance them through ice-breakers, appetizers and potential conversational land mines. First Date is Broadway's new hysterical and hopeful new musical about the chances we take to find love."
