If you have opportunity to catch this before it shutters next week (??!!), I can’t recommend it enough."
And yet if this didn't come in John Proctor would still be running and be on their 3rd or 4th Shelby replacement by now. Thanks, Scott!"
Well it did. It closed. Get over it. This was a better show than JOHN PROCTOR could’ve ever aspired to be."
The difference is, of course, people actually showed up to see John Proctor. It played at or near capacity for its entire run and had good to decent grosses the entire time.

Ok."
Not to mention Oscar and Emmy nominee Kumail Nanjiani, Emmy nominee Michael Urie, Tony nominee Conrad Ricamora, and Tony nominee John-Andrew Morrison, with Tony Award Winner John Cameron Mitchell coming down the pike.

I realize that.
My point is that it couldn’t run forever. And it didn’t. So let’s move on.

But continued to sell well after she left.

I honestly am pissed that this is closing. I found this to be a quietly devastating show that I found myself returning to multiple times just to study the characters and their nuances. It
definitely was some career best work from Metcalf AND Stock and I hope both of them come up again during Tony time.
I didn’t expect a mostly two-hander on a minimal set making roughly $400K a week to fold faster than Liberation (not to cast aspersions on that wonderful play), but I guess the economics of Broadway really that terrible and Rudin probably wants to hold his coins for SALESMAN.

The show didn't open with a star per se. Ok?

At the risk of sounding like a lunatic, this industry is so cooked.
I have been going to the theater for decades and I’ve never seen it in the state it’s currently in. Very scary and sad, to put it plainly.

Can you refresh my memory. Who were you here in a previous life? I think I know but just checking.

Lol so now anyone who makes a valid point that doesn’t align with yours is just immediately presumed to be BroadwayFlash, I’m guessing?
I have been on here since 2009. I am not Flash or whoever you’re insinuating, but if it makes you feel better to think I am, go off.

Liberation isn't staying open because of tickets sales. It's staying open because the producers are pumping money into it so their transfer effort doesn't seem like a failure. It's an ego based moved. It's smoke and mirrors for the allure of "success" and accolades.
If it's their money, what do you care? Why shouldn't they stand behind their play, the most acclaimed new play of the season, and give it every chance in the world to find an audience? Why slam them for 'ego,' rather than devotion and commitment?

This board stays arguing about everything and nothing at the same damn time 😂

Don’t play pretend that this production opening wasn’t also an ego based move. Diller and Roth are practically burning money into the incinerator knowing full well these shows will never recoup.

I could care less if you align with anything. It just happens to be a certain MO on this board where a dormant account of say 15 years all of a sudden becomes very active. But you do you Boo.

*couldn’t care less. Enjoy your day!
Good. F*ck Scott Rudin (emotional/physical abuser and predator) and everyone that works for or supports him in any way.
The amount of standby accounts that are all of a sudden very active in this thread is very suspect.

Too bad this production is only the beginning of his comeback. And f*CK you for being happy that people who did nothing wrong are out of work.

At least houses aren’t staying empty for long periods of time with nothing rumored to come in.

I have zero dogs in this fight, but FWIW, I agree that LBRR is leagues better than JPITV. The gaslighting is real.
