I can't wait till he tells us what she was thinking while she was singing.

I think it's safe to assume that Anna Kendrick being attached is one of the reasons this movie is actually being made. So...there's that.

Don't try logic on Dave19. It just doesn't work.

You have me confused with someone who will talk to it* directly.

I will not. I'll just speak around it.

*I use 'it' to describe posters who are trolls or posters who are simply tiresome. In other words, I am Buffalo Bill, and these posters are Catherine Martin.

Jimmycurry, that's right

Especially the part about your comments being without merit.

....says someone who can't tell how someone sings after seeing the whole show of "Wicked" with a certain lead singer.

Speaking about logic....

I have a question, can you tell how someone sings by seeing The last five years? Or do you come out of the theatre clueless as well?

So which Wicked songs are able to give you a clue about someone's singing quality then?

I'm still wondering what you meant above.

"Don't try logic on Dave19. It just doesn't work."

"Whatevs. I don't use Wicked songs as barometer to judge... anything."

This.

My question is simple. You think it is logical that you can't determine singing quality when someone sings 40 songs?

Phyllis Rogers Stone

Why do you answer questions with questions?

Who sang 40 songs in Wicked? Anna Kendrick? Huh? What?

Dave19
#112Last Five Years Film Adaption

Well, what if Anna Kendrick sang 40 songs from Wicked?
You would still have no clue about the level of singing quality?

If that is not your opinion, then please edit you last posts, where you said that you couldn't use Wicked songs as barometer to judge... anything.

If you don't understand you own logic I guess we are done.

Ooooh, you schooled me.

I still want to know about the whole show of Wicked with a certain lead singer, though.

I love the show and hope that the movie is great, but I really do wonder if this is going to be one of those shows that won't translate to the screen. I was listening to the closing number on the CD last night, which I think works wonderfully in the theater with the two characters both onstage but in different time zones (so to speak). I have no idea how they will do it on film, but if they go with a split screen or quick cuts between the two characters (since they are five years apart as they are singing), I don't think it will be as moving.

I sure hope they find a way to translate it to film.

YES! Also there will be cameos by Jessica Molaskey, Sherie Rene Scott, and Jason Robert Brown. They tried to get Norbert but his schedule made him unavailable.

Was it actually established in the stage version that Jamie left Cathy for Elise? I remember that Cathy was jealous of her and she helps him pack his bags, but I always figured that it was more of a working relationship (wasn't she his publicist? I don't have access to the libretto anymore).

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

I am not sure if they actually say its Elise - anyone else recall?

Interesting that the extras in some of those photos are wearing earbuds. I guess this film updates the story to the present, unlike the recent revival, which JRB said in interviews was meant to take place when it was written.
