GaGa Too Old now… get someone else. Dove Cameron???

Lea Michele and Lady Gaga are both 36.
Not that I think she would be replacing anyone in anything. If she ever does a show on Broadway, she will definitely be the opening star.

Yeah, but the situation is apples and oranges. Lea Michele was in need of a major career rehab and was in a “right place right time” situation with this production.
Gaga can basically do whatever the hell she wants. I imagine being the second replacement in this show is not high on her list. Plus I would guess the Joker sequel will start production around when Lea Michele would be departing.
This is all speculation of course.

Are you saying Lea Michele got the role because she “NEEDED” to save her career…?
Make it make sense. I’m confused.
I think the point is that Gaga is a world super star and still very hot. She can pick and choose what she wants to do, and she is too good for being a 3rd (4th?) replacement in this show. I mean, Gaga is so hot that a producer could capitalise and mount an entirely new production of Funny Girl the week after this one on Broadway and the show will be a guaranteed hit with likely the highest grosses of any Broadway show of all time. Lea Michele was half-cancelled and does not have this kind of power. She was in the right place at the right time, and everyone is benefiting from it - but of course Gaga and Lea Michele are on a completely different league.

Gaga should have been the original choice for this revival.

So glad to hear that Lea Michele saved this show from closing. Last week the show topped 2 Million.
I say the producers do stunt casting when Lea leaves.
Can someone give some insight….
Lady Gaga would be sensational in the role but this production is too cheap, drab, and poorly directed to support her once in a generation talent. And anyone who thinks Gaga would replace in any show on Broadway is way out of touch.
Lea Michele’s career was over. She is extremely lucky this opportunity came along.

You were both dead on.
I think Gaga's first time on stage will be a play

I can't really see her doing anything on Broadway. The ticket prices, the fans at the stagedoor...It would be insanity. I know big names have been on Broadway before but that would be over the top.

I think Gaga would be better off as a creative for Broadway. She's written some great music. Especially with A Star is Born. I think she would do an outstanding job writing a score herself or collaborating with another big name.

Madonna did at the peak of her fame. I think a non-musical might be the best way to get Gaga. If I remember correctly, Julia Roberts only did 12 weeks in her Broadway debut and the thing returned its investment (because of the prices the producers were able to command). Might give her a taste as to whether she would be willing to commit to a longer run the producers would demand from a musical (unless she was a replacement, of course).
I have no doubt Gaga will write a Broadway score one day. Because of her pain issues she has majorly scaled back her touring. Her Vegas residency happened so she could ease up on the touring and stay close to home and not have such a grueling schedule. It’s a shame but I can’t really see her doing a full Broadway run, but I truly hope it happens one day.
She would be stupendous as Fosca. She was born to play Evita but that’s impossible now after Madonna bullied her. The comparisons/accusations of copying would be inevitable. Maybe one day we get her Norma Desmond or The Witch.

Lea. Gaga
I can’t think of any Broadway role for which I would replace Lea with Gaga for artistic reasons.
I can't see Gaga doing a show before she writes her own. Maybe that's one in the same, maybe not. But she's simply too strong a songwriter, and it's the first impulse most musicians get when they consider Bway. They spend their lives singing their music, by choice. It takes a lot to want to sing someone else's.
Or it would have to be music she admires tremendously, either another artist or nostalgia for a particular show.
My dream project for Gaga on Broadway would technically be a Madonna revival but not Evita: playing Breathless in an expanded stage version of Sondheim’s Dick Tracy.

In regards to Lea...no idea. Her contract is through March, right? Maybe if they're still doing well they'd consider a replacement...I honestly have no clue who could replace her and keep the show going. What if Parade transfers and Michaela goes with it?"
The London gig is a one-day concert of Dr. Zhivago in May. He has 2 concerts the last weekend of February as well, same time Lea will be on vacation.
Lea's contract was extended to the end of May.

I also saw a rumor elsewhere that they’re planning a tour?? Who on earth would lead that?? Would Lea leave her family? Take them with her? Would she even do it? Hmmmmm.

Hadn't heard that (but who am I?). That would be rough. If I were to guess, it would be Julie taking the lead. Not sure if Ramin would do a tour either (he has a cruise scheduled in July) - Jeremiah James (his u/s) would probably be considered. He and Julie seem to work well together from what I've seen about the pairing.
That said, I would love for Lea and Ramin to do a tour or at least come to Los Angeles so I could see them together on stage instead of just videos.
