I've seen no evidence Jane hates Lea. It's entirely possible she does, of course. But I doubt Lea ever directed any of her bullying at Jane or any of the other actors playing adults on Glee. In classic bully fashion, she seems to have bullied people "smaller" than her. But we really know very little about what went on. At any rate, it absolutely makes sense for them to bring both replacements on at the same time and not to wait the extra 3 weeks til Jane's original departure date for Lea to take over the role, IMO.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Im totally indifferent to Ms. Michele- incredible voice, horrible reputation, has every right to now prove herself to be a decent person and i wish her the best. But to not see Jane Lynch suddenly leaving early to NOT perform with her-- the Beanie hate has now morphed into refusing to see whats right in front of your face, even when its not about Beanie! Just hilarious.
And did I miss the vipers screaming about Lea only doing 7 shows a week? Can you imagine if Beanie had gotten that deal? People here would have passed out in gleeful rage."
tbh there are juicier things going on that are much more interesting than 7 vs 8 shows a week today. don't you worry; I'm sure there will be discussion about that once her run nears or begins."
Dont get me wrong, I know people will be coming for Michele, too. But since the CURRENT thing is to snipe at Beanie for every little thing (shes at a wedding! shes faking covid! her daddy invented this entire production just for her! she cant handle 8 shows a week!), its just wild that the same people casually report that Lea Michele... will be doing less work than Beanie, who could have, but didnt, angle for the same perk.
One thing that irked me about people defending beanie is they claim it's fatphobia. I have not seen any mentioning her size at all beside her 'fans' who claimed that's the reason people hated her casting?

so your issue is that they aren't coming enough for her quickly enough, even though you're indifferent about her? maybe hop over to Twitter where you'll get more than your fill of Michele hate.

....no, as I said explicitly, I think Michele deserves her shot, and shes got the talent for it. That doesn't mean I dont see the rank, silly hypocrisy in people tearing at Beanie *for having Covid* for *going to a wedding* for this and that, and then just swallowing Michele's (totally fine with me!) decision to only do 7 shows.

On planet Earth, where they’ll be changing a lot of the production to fit Lea. :)

When she announced they were still finalizing the dates with Tovah. They want them to start TOGETHER so there is no OVERLAP and NEED to rehearse two actress and not one. This is a non event. Plenty of drama surrounding this production. Zero percent has to do with Jane. How dense can you possibly be?

I think if it had been announced from the start that Beanie was only doing 7 shows a week, like it is being done for Lea, it would have been a non-issue. Bette Midler and others have done that. I think it's more about the unscheduled absences.

yes, i'm sure this board would not have said boo about her doing 7 shows a week. come on.

Just today a post was deleted for mentioning that Beanie plied Amber Ardolino with "cheese fries and burgers."

ah yes another totally un-confirmed rumor that will now be accepted as gospel by the geniuses that populate these boards. they're changing the production to accommodate Lea--but also the problem with the show was Beanie, not the production itself! But also how dare Beanie miss shows! But of course Lea would do 7 shows, thats different! And on and on and on.

I have never cared about that, at all. People come in all shapes and sizes, whatever. My issue was she never had the voice and was never going to have it. She never had to audition and was given the role based on her connections. Most people on Broadway have to work their asses off for this kind of role and she did not. People don't like that including Tony voters. Obviously.
Lol what are you going on about? Beanie AND the production aren’t working. They’ll obviously use this new time with a new star to rework the parts that didn’t go over well with critics. Are you just a Beanie fan who is speculating? Cause that’s how you’re coming across. If you think Lea is gonna jump right into Beanie’s track you’ve got another thing coming.

Actually, we know A LOT about what happened on the Glee set. A cast member came out to recount her racist bullying, which prompted Lea to make an apology and her to lose her Hello Fresh sponsorship. On top of that, the rest of the cast has been liking plenty of tweets pointing to how horrible of a person Lea is and she should not be given a pass and starring role on Broadway. But we know who people value in this industry and who they don't. It's honestly disgusting for them to hire her.

THIS is why people are so frustrated with this misbegotten revival. Did NO ONE not realize that BF could not handle the score? And now we have this monstrous would-be diva sashaying in like she is God's gift to Broadway. She ain't done any movies, she is far from a household name, and her gross behavior is well documented. I find Lea Michele repulsive so I don't see myself seeing this latest regurgitation of Funny Girl (a second-rate musical at best) unless I am comped, but I acknowledge that aside from Jane Lynch and various co-workers, Lea has her fan base. So does Donald Trump.

Because it has nothing, absolutely NOTHING to do with detesting Lea Michele. Simple.

I don't know. Glee was on for six seasons. As it relates to Glee, we know about specific incidents involving a new cast member and two background actors, I think, plus two regular cast members agreeing she behaved terribly (and whatever Naya said about her in her book). I don't know anything about her past relationship with Jane. I don't follow any of the Glee cast members, so I have no idea about the tweets you say that cast is currently liking. There's no question Lea's behavior has been horrible. I am not defending her. My point was simply that, to my knowledge, we have no idea how Jane feels about her.
"We don't know anything much...except she was mean to some of the background people...and the new people...and people who were on the show from the beginning..." Yeah, there's...not much you can infer from all of that. LOL
She got what she wanted. Now let’s see what she’ll do with it. If she plays her cards right (which she has been so far), this is the perfect comeback for her.
