This really feels like the wrong place for this, but since this is sometimes just a general Blonde thread, and not so much just a Blonde u/s thread...
Nikki Snelson's last show tonight was *amazing.* The energy onstage and in the audience was huge: entrance applause during Omigod You Guys, huge cheers and standing ovation after Whipped into Shape (Nikki yelled "I love you guys!" to her crew towards the end of the number and I almost cried), LBB's having to compose herself to be able to continue with the Delta Nu number, Nikki (photographing or videoing) the audience during her curtain call, LBB's farewell remarks at the end of the show, everything was just...amazing.
And I've been trying to practice my LBB lip reading, and I swear that during the graduation speech she mouthed something along the lines of "and that's Nikki Snelson, and we will miss her."
Such a great last show, Nikki will completely be missed, but I am excited for her to trade the orange jumpsuit for the red dress, and in two months I'll be seeing her in ACL!
Aww my roommate rushed and saw her it tonight too- she told me all of those things, and that there was so much clapping for whipped into shape they had to like stop the music?
I wish I could have been there. damn astrophysics.
Not stop the music during the song, but the cheers/standing o at the end of Whipped went on for quite a few seconds- I was at the mtv taping, and last night definitely rivaled that inasfar as crowd energy and cheering was concerned- there was a def hold at the end, and yet Bryce still started with his line before the applause stopped.
thanks for the review of nikki's last show. i wish i could have been there. i will miss nikki too. do you have curtain call pictures. by the way according to broadwayunderstudies.com , michelle kittrell will be in the role as brooke wyndam all these 8 performances this wee.
So broadwayunderstudies.com is only listing Beth!Brooke for April 23 - April 27; the covering schedule for Brooke the week of April 30 - May 4 (if Nicolette's announced May 7 start date is still accurate) hasn't been posted yet. Broadway Understudies dates
me 2 clumsy but dont have that kind of money to see the show with michelle and beth i wish i could. good luck to both of them and i am happy they get to shine for awhile.
i am not happy about the reality show replacing LBB either and i was with some family last night who work for the theatre, they feel the same way about it. becky, annaleigh, or haven deserve to be the replacment for elle.
I agree yankee but the one thing I have to be happy for with the reality show is that not, thank god, Jerry Mitchell is picking and not america. had it been America I would have mourned for the show. but I agree that those three ladies unfortunately lost out on something atleast one of them deserves.
Yankee-> If after my SA audition, I may go try and see BLONDE if I can. I agree that Becky or Annaleigh should take over, but hopefully Jerry picked a good one. I have all the faith in the world in him with this. Plus, according to someone in another thread, Becky is apparently going on the tour. So, who knows. I wish Annaleigh would finish Wicked and come back to Wicked, but that's just me. -sigh-
And I agree with you, shhh, that if America had picked, we could end up seeing someone completely awful. Thank god.

Bump- any reviews on Kitty as Brooke, or any other understudies of the weekend?
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Lorraine: That depends on what it is.
Dean: I think you're really really pretty.
Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.
shh282---> Yes, I did mistype. I meant Legally Blonde! I walked by Blonde on Sunday and there was a line of like twenty people waiting for rush. I thought about getting tickets, but thought against it due to the auditon, thank god I did. I didnt get out till like 4:30 almost 5. So, yeah. But I am dying to see Blonde. :)

shh282, since when has Becky Gulsvig been cast as Elle in the tour?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
