Becky performed "So Much Better" in Providence, RI today at a press event to announce that the tour will kick off at PPAC in September. Heard from my dad (a reporter for a local radio station) that she was excellent, even at 10:30 in the morning!
well since i was totally wrong, I will say that Nicolette is probobly a little closer to Ali Larter's portrayal in the movie. Not to say Nikki isn't amazing she just played the character much nicer
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
Caught the show on Sat 3/29. Everyone was in...although during intermission the announcement was made that "Due to injury, the role of the district attorney will be played by Lindsay Nicole Chambers."
FOUR weeks worth of Brooke u/s? Wow that's a long time.
Totally in the minority I guess- Nicolette Hart was my fav Maureen, although part of that might have been because Merle Dandridge was such a great Joanne, and yes I have seen less Maureens than most I am sure- but I'm excited to see her Brooke.
I'm going to miss Nikki. =( It's gonna be sad for me to see each of my favorite people leave.
Wow, I didn't think Haven was leaving so soon! When is her last day? I'm pretty sure she is doing Shrek. The main characters have been announced, I wonder when they're gonna announce Gingy! hehe
The producers of the new show "Shrek the Musical" have announced the casting of three major roles in the production, which will have its world premiere at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre Aug. 14-Sept. 21, and move on to a Broadway run that opens in December.
Rehearsals for SHREK begin at the end of June (which is why Brian d'Arcy James, Sutton Foster, and Chester Gregory will all be in shows until around that time.)
Haven Burton, who will indeed be playing Gingy, leaves LEGALLY BLONDE around May as that marks the end of her initial six month contract.
More casting should be officially announced soon.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Are you talking about knowing if an understudy is on? If so because of the gap between Nikki and Nicolete they needed to fill the time so the understudies were given specific dates they will go on.
I was referring to knowing if Haven will understudy a lead part in Shrek,
I kind of figured that they had to fill the Nikki Nicolette void- unless they wanted to use one of the boys which they have not been afraid to do for other parts! haha Updated On: 4/3/08 at 06:10 PM
Anyone going to her last show(s) today? Please report back!
lol I think the question might be is there anyone *not* going to Nikki's last tonight- I think all the Blonders I know will be there. I was there last night, I'll be there tonight- I am super sad for Nikki's last, but at the same time I am really looking forward to ACL hardcore.
